For me, not the baby.
I made a massive post explaining it all, but because I'm a retard I lost it all by pressing a button i shouldnt have, so I shall summarise!

Has anyone had a massive weightloss after a caesarean that is probably more than what you should be losing? Lily is 2 and a half weeks old and since her eviction, i've lost 26kg.
I'm getting severe backpains that dont go away with ANY painkillers - although i'm off the Tramadol now and I dont really want to be getting more of them - cant afford the $40 at the doctor AND the $20 for the pills anyway :P
Its getting to the point that if I walk around for longer than 10 mins, I cant breathe properly and the pain becomes pretty much unbearable. I'm not lifting anything I shouldnt be - including my poor toddler - i'm resting properly even tho I'm able to drive again, i'm on regular paracetamol and voltarens so my 'pain management' routine is sorted out.
Mum thinks my body is probably having a hissy fit at the fast weight loss and everything is trying too fast to go back to how it should be (bones etc)
Any suggestions? Cant afford the physio atm so thats out of the question as well. My MW doesnt seem to be concerned about it - in fact I'm completely over the moon that i've lost so much because this is the smallest i've been since I was a teenager (averaged around 130ish kg for the last 12 years EW) but now i'm at 110kg and the poor old body is NOT happy!!!

Woah that's a huge amount of weight to lose in 2 weeks! No wonder your body is shocked. I'm a bit worried about you saying you're short of breath after so little effort though. I recon go and see your Dr because if nothing else you might be low on iron/red cells after your c-section.

Did you have alot of fluid retention at the end?

I was induced due to PE so was huge - I put on over 30kgs. I lost 20kgs in a week but that was mostly all fluid.

That amount of pain, + shortness of breath = medical opinion needed. I would be amazed if that pain was due to your body adjusting to weight loss.

I lost around 23kg in the 2 weeks after my caesar, that was all my baby weight plus a few extra kgs. I didnt have any pain anywhere though (except for the pain around the caesar scar). I reakon it wouldnt hurt to see your doc just to make sure everythings ok:)

Sorry but I'm with most of the other girls - see the doctor just incase. I lost about 15kgs in a couple of weeks (didn't have a c) but no other pain.

I had a huge weight loss after my c/s too. But like most of the others didn't have any pain other than a little bit around my wound. I took ibruprofen and paracetamol for it. Extreme pain and breathlessness sounds concerning and definitely worth a doctors visit. To be honest I'm surprised the mw isn't taking it more seriously particularly regarding the breathing as it could indicate something like a blood clot on the lung!!

Because it's related to your pregnancy/birth the doc visit might be free. I got a free visit when I had mastisis. Your midwife should also be able to refer you to the hospital physio, which is also free - though I went there when I was pregnant so not certain on this.

Grrr makes me so mad that you have to question wether you should see a Dr or not cos its so expendy, that is really pants. The UK has plenty of problems but free Dr's visits is bloody awesome.

I lost a fair bit of weight after my c/section, about 3 -4 weeks post eviction I was 7kgs under my pre preg weight, so the loss from full term was 14kgs - 87 to 73kgs, so proportionately that might be simillar to your loss?? Cant be bothered doing the math lol.

Definately go and see the Dr, by 3 weeks post c/section I was only taking a few panadol a day and was moving around pretty much comfortably albeit carefully IYKWIM.

I think a Drs visit is probably a good idea, even if it costs. Even though the timing suggests they're linked, it might even be something unrelated to the C-section - the Dr can check everything out. Being in that much pain doesn't sound like everything's going smoothly on the inside somewhere!

Thanks girls, I'll give the doc a ring tomorrow and see if I can get a free visit as it's pregnancy related! Fingers crossed. If only I was eligible for a community services card :P

I lost alot of weight but after a natural birth...
Only put on 8kgs with baby and lost 15 - 16kgs in about 2 weeks - very scary i know how you feel

I went to the doctor and they monitored it for me.... It was to do with breast feeding and bubs taking way to much out of me and i could not keep up with her basically

Hope it all works out for you
