You wouldn't think there would be too many nuts in McDonalds (and I don't mean the staff!) but something gave my Sienna hives there this morning when we had an OB meet up there. The gremlins shared a big breakfast which is all things they've had before (eggs, sausage, muffin) and as far as I know that's all she ate. Unless she picked something up off the floor in the playground. The only other thing I can think of is that it was something in the syrup on my hotcakes that she somehow came in contact with. I have no idea. It wasn't a huge flare up, but noticeable none the less, and frustrating coz I was starting to forget they even had allergies.
Whatever it is it's still affecting her coz she is shockingly unsettled, keeps grizzling in her sleep and she still has a couple of hives on her chin, they usually disappear pretty quickly. Have given her some phenargan, fingers crossed she settles.

this isnt the first time that shes had a flare up from mcdonalds tho is it?!

the problem would be that they prob use powdered eggs etc and you dont know where they come from or if they are manufactured where nuts are.

Maccas Allergen List

Not sure if you've read this but I guess with all places like that theres a pretty high chance of cross contamination

Macca's don't use powdered eggs. I used to work for them and we use real ones (I know I dropped a few dozen of them one day). I'm thinking possibly from the hot cake syrup, or did you have a hot chocolate with Marshmallows?? That could be it.

I think the gremilins have eaten marshmallow with no fuss. Bugger about the flare up. What sort of restricted diet are they on at the  moment?

I did have a hot choc and Sienna was sucking on the cup, maybe their marshmallows are crosscontaminated?

Do u know the name to look for in the ingredients of marshmellows, that comes from egg? Isla's nana was giving them to her often, but when her excema flared when we tried her on a tiny bit of egg, we studied her diet again,...and stopped the marshmellows,...and it went away altogether.
Not for long tho, of course!

Must be a brand thing coz Maya was highly allergic to eggs but coped fine with marshmallows, but we did only buy the Pascalls ones.

I would probably put it to that, next time you know not to have a hot chocolate and if it happens again then its something else altogether.
