Well there's been lots of chat here today.
Test Test Test Natalie hope you get the result your wanting.
Were pretty much all sorted for James' Birthday just got to get his presents and get the food organised and thats it.
Took James back to the Dr today to get is ear check it still has fluid in it so we have to go back in to weeks to get it checked again if it hasn't cleared up then were being referred to a specialist and he will get grommets which I though they had to get ear infections more than once before they considered putting grommets hopefully it clears up. Does any know if there is stuff to do to helps get the fluid out or is it one of those things that clears up by itself he has had a course of antibiotics so the infection must of cleared up but the fluid is still there.
Good luck for your move Kellz hope Isla ear is better when you take her to the Dr.
James' new thing is to point at everything and say there is getting a few words now it so cute when there say things.
And Wow Andie Ella's walking how you finding that hope she's not getting into too much mischief.
Oops this has turned into a rather long post sorry if you still reading

Isla loves pointing at everything too! He he!
The fluid /glue ear can still stay after infection,..but can eventually drain away,...if it doesnt,..and its a problem,..then grommets. We may be heading in that direction too

thanks Kellz didn't know if there was anything we were supposed to do or not it doesn't seem to be bothering him although the little toad has decided he's not tired and is up playing with Jesse at the mo.

And then there's Mercedes who is determined to be different and despite the grommets has yet ANOTHER ear infection! Both ears are weeping again. But that apparently is a good thing, it means the fluid is draining as opposed to building up in her ear like it did before she had the grommets put in.
Don't be scared of grommets tho, I'd even go so far as to say if they *might* need them then go with it even if it's just in case. It's a tiny, tiny procedure and Mercedes is a million times happier since she had it.

Well he now seems to have given up the fight and gone to sleep maybe his ear has a drainage problem 'cos they didn't weep at all when he had his infection don't now if ear infections that normally happens or not and he didn't even give the classic signs he had sore ears apart from his sudden temperature rise last weekend.

Naughty ears causing problems for our October bubbies!
YAY for your move Kellz. That is great! You will have a busy few weeks (speaking from recent experience!) but it will all be so worth it once you get settled.
That is so cool about the babies pointing. A wee girl in my coffee group has just started pointing and saying "that" too Emma. It is so cute.
Oliver has just started cuddling a bit more - he has never been especially cuddly so I am loving it. He comes over and snuggles in to my shoulder. It feels so nice.
Oh and Natalie..... TEST TEST TEST! Please don't keep us in suspense! I hope you get the result you are after.
Ollie has been to two first birthday parties this week. So cute. He was a bit of a monkey on Saturday though - he pulled the birthday girl's hair and made her cry!!!!!
We have had a few unsettled nights recently - not fun. Am not sure what is up - other than me being tired the next day!!!
Hope you are all well.

OMG I've missed soooo much!!!! (been at work today and will be for every other day this week!)
Natalie - TEST!!!!!!!!
It's so amazing what all our bubbas are learning to do at the moment. Brenna now points to pictures of babies and says "bubba" and she boogies when you say "is Brenna dancing?"
Birthday plans sound like they are all coming together and OMFG Emma - 70!!! You crazy woman! I still haven't done much...mum brought down Brenna's pressie that I was getting made at a wooden toys shop up in Warkworth - a rimu push trolley and it's turned out better than what I was thinking so I'm stoked!
Kellz - how exciting that you're moving. I've never been to Gisborne but have heard its really nice (and warm and sunny!)

Danni - ears *shouldn't* weep, if there is too much fluid built up in the middle ear the drum will rupture and then it will drain out. The problem is that if it happens too many times the ear drum is left scarred and then the rupture may not be able to heal itself and you end up with a perforated drum that has to be surgically patched. That's what happened with my stepdaughter.
So instead they put grommets in which makes a tiny hole in the ear drum and allows the fluid to drain out without causing any scarring and gradually the grommmets fall out and the ear drum closes up again.
I wouldn't panic too much about James at this stage, just be really vigilant and if the fluid doesn't improve quickly, or the drum ruptures, then definitely push to see an ENT specialist.

LOL Shelley, Sienna gets from one end of the house to the other, and out the front door if I'm not quick enough to catch her! She shuffles as fast as Mercedes can crawl!

Awww I love that pic, Kellz! And Lynne, Charli is a right little cutie! Not long I suppose 'till you can access the photos section - well, not if you're hanging about on this thread, anyway! In the meantime, this is Ella and I, so we're not faceless names...
Yeah I'm using her cat as motivation to help her walk! Though obviously that day she wasn't into it. She's funny - she's just super-cautious, and all it takes is one wee tumble and she won't try again for hours! Mostly she walks for her Daddy these days.
Man, I hope Mercedes, James & Isla's (hope I didn't forget anyone) ears all clear up really soon. I'm going to harrass someone for Ella's kidney test results today, since we've not heard anything. Only 3 days till her RAST and her birthday... eeep! The rest of you all sound very onto it with their party plans. It's so exciting that they're all turning one. I need to prepare whatever food I can freeze for Ella's party over the next week or so, as Ella & I will be in Wellers for a week over Labour weekend while Jono does some more renovating, and we'll come back to no kitchen in the house... I'm glad I down-sized her party plans!

andie i'm definately not onto it with charli's party my brother is getting married the day before (sat) and i'm bridesmaid (matron of honour sounds too old!) so i'm helping to organise everything because the bride is only 19 and doesn't really know what's involved
we are having a casual bbq at our place on sunday for charli....still have to organise food and her cake!
i love that pic of isla too kellz...and andie....what a clever girl ella is walking already!
will take some pics of my charli today and post them later

Well I've just had to take my own advice re: the grommets We had Mercedes specialist appointment this morning and he checked Sienna's ears too coz with them being twins there's a chance she could have the same issues. And what do you know, she has two glue ears The specialist said we could either do a hearing test and then wait and see how she goes, or do the grommets. So grommets it is on 24 October. I have no idea how Maya got so lucky considering 3 out of 4 of Willie's girls have ear probs now - I am soooo blaming him and his dodgy genes!
Lynne - LOL at Charli bottom shuffling too! Seems a few of the Oct babies are into it! Those pics are gorgeous!
Andie - the gremlins are looking forward to playing with their little Ella-friend at the Mega Meet up!
And they're looking forward to seeing their Isla-friend on the weekend!
