I've had some brown spotting today, but I've been told that is normal-ish.
Anyway, I had my HCG blood test yesterday, and the doctor said the results are okay, but a bit low (ie early), so I need to have another blood test to check this on Friday.
Is this normal??

Hi
I had some brown spotting with #2 at 5 and 8 weeks.
I was advised this is fairly normal.

As for the blood tests, your doctor will be wanting to monitor your hcg levels to make sure they're rising. A lot of doctors do this.
I was offered it with #1 as I had a history of miscarriage, the same with #2. I opted not to, but it was nice to know my doctor was proactive

Good luck!

thanks for your reassurance :)
hopefully all is fine...
The nurse said as long as the discharge doesn't change colour and I don't have cramps, it should all be okay..

Yes completely normal for the doctor/midwife to do follow up Blood tests, they like to check that the HCG levels are going up. They should double every 48 hours at that early stage.
