Hello! I'm almost 6 weeks with my first. This one is going to make it, I just know it! First scan on Tuesday - wonder if we'll be able to see/hear the heart beat. But just seeing the healthy wee bean will be enough. Good luck everyone

hi ladies
I found out yesterday I'm due in Feb around valentines day apparently. 1st baby for me.
is it normal to get a 6 week scan? I will be making a doc appointment on mon to get bloods but im sure 3 tests dont lie lol, just wondering what to expect from doc

Hi mrs mac, welcome and congratulations!! As far as im aware the only scans recommended is a 12 week and a 20 week. You can get one at 6-8 weeks, the later the better as a dating scan to find out your actual due date. If you are sure of your dates you done need this one, but I am having one just to confirm that i have a viable pregnancy. The heart beat is usually audible at 7-8 weeks so thats why to leave it a bit if you can.
