VBAC

Thats great news Toni - I think it'll be a great thread for all us C/S women out there ... as I'm sure all of us have gone thru the stage of feeling 'inadequate' .. sorry, not sure that is the right word!? But it'll be good to have some support and a thread to chat in.

I know a good midwife in West Auckland for anyone who does want a VBAC she was a member of our Auckland Cesarean Support Group and went onto be a midwife.

I thought I would jump in here.

I used accupuncture for when Tyrell was breech. It was fantastic....although cost me $80 a session. It took 1 session to get him turned but I was hooked and kept going for a further 8 weeks.
I used a lady in AKL if you ever want her name....she is just fantastic and a previous Obstriction so I think that helped her knowing what I wanted and what I was going through!
I am sure she can so just about ANYTHING!

 

One of my coffee group used acupuncture for her morning sickness - helped her heaps. And also to get baby to turn, as he was being stubborn and staying breech. Worked a treat for her.

I am going for birthing related matters amongst other things, and the guy I'm seeing is great - treats lots of pregnant women and his partner is year 3 training for midwifery as well.

He told me about the woman he worked on to get her 'started' in labour. So it does help with positioning, but also using those pressure points that ToniEllis talks about, to get things 'moving along' when the time is near!

Argh! I have been tentatively booked in for c-sec 3rd July. Gives me a week over EDD to get things moving myself.

If i go into labour naturally i will be monitored and have a time frame to progress by.

Will see what the specialist says when i see her next week. Its getting close & i think I'm getting really scared. I hope she books me for c-sec in a way, having this timed may put to much pressure on my body & it give,up so ill need c-sec anyway......Arhg! Natural labour ending in c-sec is not nice i think id rather an elective.

I thought I would throw in a link for you for Optimal fetal positioning. Also I would like to say that after my second time labour which ended up as a C/S I still had very little difficulty getting around. I was up & having a shower within a couple of hours after my c/s even though my legs were still a little "sleepy" from my epidural. Of course I haven't had an elective to compare it with!!

Also I had staples 2nd time around & they gave a LOT more support for my tummy! I didn't feel like I was going to cough & split open if you know what I mean? I had 40plus staples holding me together LOL

If you do try out labour then here are some other things that helped me (I think) with getting labour going was EPO, 2 orally with water & 2 ummmmm.... up my *fufu*. I was recommended raspberry leaf tablets (or tea) to help prep everything. Also with the monitoring, I seriously suggest you try conning them into letting you be monitored while standing or similar. I had my best progress while I was upright & my first midwife was kind enough to hold the monitor on me while I stood leaning over a chair. 2nd midwife was NOT nice & made me lie on the bed on my back which HURT SO BAD!! Argh blardy poterior boy! 3rd midwife let me lie on my side which wasn't quite as bad but still not so comfy

Just thought I'd let all that is interested know- I'm looking sorta looking good for my VBAC, baby is ROA at the moment mainly been lying ROL & is 4/5 down

6 days till due date

Had S&S yesterday to see if we could get things moving as i only have 12days left till my dead-line c-sec time. Unfortunately cervix is still tightly closed

Will be definitely letting you know what happens
