I bought some arnica drops the other day paws.. my ob doesn't support this obviously.. due to it being naturopathy.. Lol.. I asked him about it & he did his best to be polite.. dh just hassled him & said oh of course.. this is not your school of thought.. it's the enemy pretty much..

Anyway, due to ob being unhelpful because it didn't envolve "his kind" of medicine.. I asked the pharmacist when to start taking it & she said 2 days prior to the op.. is this what you did?

thanks :) I have an issue with my placenta - it separates into two peices but his linked by blood vessels in the middle & looks like a pair of spectacles pretty much.. birthing naturally is a risk that neither myself or my ob thinks is wise to take.

ugh. With my first baby my placenta tore off the wall and I started haemorraging mid-labour... =emergency c/s. It's neat that you've been able to see that in advance and book elective. The whole "in 2 weeks" thing is pretty freaky but also very exciting!

Where abouts in Auckland are you.
I could try and post you a copy of a booklet that the old Auckland Cesarean Group that I was a member of in the 80's used to publish called Recovery after Caserean

Definitely definitely get the booklet sent out to you from susieq, it has some great information in it and really helps you prepare yourself mentally for what is happening. I found it really helpful.

that's pretty freaky having the placenta tearing off the wall busymum! my ob said it could be difficult to get both parts of the placenta out safely & I could end up haemorraging as well.. he was also concerned that baby would get caught in the middle of it on the way out which would be quite dangerous too so doing it this way is far safer.. more certain that it will be alright Initially after my 20wk scan it was picked up as placenta previa.. & it was lying over the left side of my cervix.. then it moved a bit up but they realised there were 2 peices & they were attached on both the left & right hand side by a thin peice in the middle directly behind baby..

Yes I am stoked that this has been picked up. Rather go elective than going emergency if I can! I am now just getting excited pretty much.. it's the best way for my mind to be.

i found being able to plan for the elective and knowing when it was happening to be great for the emotional preparation for the birth. We to had a condition which sent us elective 2 weeks prior - and i found being prepared meant i came out so much better the other side.

All the best. Cant wait to see photos once bubba is here.

Just wanted to wish you the best of luck for your big day. My wee one was born on the 2nd of August so it's a special time of year for me too!

I appreciated the curtain also as I didn't like the idea of accidently seeing something, some of the photos my midwife took are a little too graphic for me.
Anyways, one of the memories I have that will never be forgotten is when they lifted my wee one up and all I saw over top of the curtain was a tiny wee hand reaching up. absolutely amazing.

Hey justme. I asked my MWabout Arnica as I had heard good things too. She warned me that some homeopaths dont recommend taking it beforehand as it can cause more bleeding or something but to definately start as soon as bubs is born!!! She suggested asking a homeopath or a specialist shop (where you actually talk to someone trained, not just the weekend part timer )

I am not sure where you are based.
The pharmacy on Lincoln Rd in AKL has a fantastic range of staff and are quite clued up on natural remedies.

I second the pharmacy on Lincoln Road! They are brilliant!

justme its just off the north western motorway before the Massey exit if your coming from St Lukes, in the block of shops next door to the Toyota caryard.

Peachy thanks.
I went there when I had Tyrell to get a few supplies. Also had to send Dh to get a few "ladies" things and they were really sensitive to him also!
