What should I pack for the girls? Apart from the obvious - naps, wipes, drinks, toys etc...

But is there anything else that you can suggest that you had and it was a lifesaver?!

Depends how long the flight is. When I went to London I had my laptop so Maya could watch DVD's (she was 20 mths or so) but I didn't bother on shorter flights.

Charlotte fell asleep as soon as we were in the air. jake watched the movie that was on. However I did pack a backpack with colouring books, crayons, paper, stickers, cars and travel exasketchers - the exersketchers were a real lifesaver interms of fave plaything while we were away. I packed stuff for each child and it was all new so not somethign they were used to playing with excpet for the 2 puzzles we took. If they don't use it on the plane, they will probably use it at the airport waiting round (they were lifesavers then, for sure)
Also, stroller.

This weekend I went and bought 24 pack crayons and a huge Disney (And I mean all the cartoons available on Disney channel) coloring book all up $10.00 from Whitcoulls.

My DH wants to take out Laptop too for her to watch her Fav Cartoons on plane plus on days where she is bored on the trip or just pure restless.....
It will be good as we are taking out Camcorder and we can upload the videos straight to Laptop when Memory runs low!

Umm.....food, drink, Fav toy, chewy sweets...I think that about it!! Our flight is also 3 hours long so it should be ok.

You can have formula already made up if you want to, or just water in baby bottles, but you must have it ready to declare at the screening point (in Auckland and Aussie) and make sure to point out it is for the baby.

When we went to Canada with DD it was just a big bag full of toys she hadn't seen before, crayons, coloring book, stickers, and snacks, I kept all the nappies and clothes in my own bag (I don't need much when flying).

Good luck and have fun!

we took bottles with boiled water in and formula in the three section container....it was all good - i just made sure i showed it when we wetn thru...and having bubs with me proved what it was....

DVDs are a good idea...unless you have your own screens...i think most flights now do...Gen can probably tell us that?

Ella played with a coffee cup for 30 mins on flight from nelson....go figure! Slept all way from melb, and from chch.

I have a bag each for the boys, but I am hoping that Josh will fall asleep on me. In the bag it has favourite toy, crayons, books and paper. I will get some fodd when I get up to Auckland.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
