Have taken all your member's thoughts - and collated them - attitudes etc included.

I still don't see how you're going to make any of this believable? A good premise here but I am still a bit suss as you are still not coming forward with anything about yourself...

Speaking with a researcher's hat on, I'm very confused about who you are and somewhat dubious about how you are gathering data.
Personally, I have no issue with giving info about my experience with my LMC BUT not without more information about you, your project, your aims, objectives, ethical approval etc.

what I can't understand is if it wasn't for legit research, which seems unlikely, then what was the purpose of it all??

I would be more then happy to submit my birth experience to somebody doing research to improve the quality of care for expectant mothers, but I'm not comfortable sharing the information for the public to read. (As much as I love all my cyber friends, it was a private and extremely traumatic thing and I really don't need to be reminded of it, and I'd hate to scare our poor pregnant mums)

unfortunately the cyber world is full of people who go around and "steal" or "borrow" other peoples stories and pretend they are their own. message boards are rife with fraudsters and if you dig deep enough and are given enough details i would imagine that not just your on line persona could be stolen.

As has been said, it can't be for legit research - waay to many flaws / issues / potential gaping holes for that. I'd suspect it's more your average Jill Blogs getting an idea and wanting to change the world
At the same time, OP aside, I found it really interesting reading what others found important in a LMC. I'm in the process of finding one, and it's really neat to hear what other people think.

Hopes, I think the most important thing with your LMC is that they share your ideas about what kind of birth you want. That can be really hard to decide right at the beginning cos your ideas can change over the pregnancy. My MW said to me at our very first meeting that she won't induce before 42 weeks without good medical reason because she doesn't want to unnecessarily invoke the cascade of intervention, and she's into letting things be as natural as possible as long as it's safe. That agreed with my philosophy on birth, and at this stage I feel like I've made a really good choice and I'm going into this birth quite confident and happy.
Of course, your ideas on birth will be quite different, so you need to find a LMC that fits with your ideals. I think the biggest role of your LMC is at the birth and in the days/weeks afterwards more so than during the pregnancy, so you need to keep that in mind - will they support you in the best way at that point?
So I hope that useful to you
