Community weight loss challenge:

Starting Date: 10th April, 2013
When: Every Wednesday for 6 weeks: Lunch time session: 12.10-12.50 or After work session: 5.30- 6.10pm for 6 weeks.
Where: 8 Durham St East, CBD
Cost: $49. (Half of this is put into the prize pool, the rest covers course materials and products to be tried during the sessions).

Our weight loss challenge is a simple and fun competition. We are here to encourage, educate and motivate you and watch you shed the excess KG's.

The challenges are designed to help you reach your weight loss goals by improving your diet and lifestyle choices. Every week participants will weigh in. Myself and other coaches will help you to understand how to choose healthy foods while educating you on the benefits of proper nutrition and exercise, essential elements of an effective weight loss program.

Topics covered include: Protein, body composition, snacking, water, metabolism, carbohydrates, nutritional label reading, digestive health, dining out, fibre, sugar, exercise, maintenance and long term wellness, heart health, fats and portion control.

Nutritional and weight loss products are available for purchase but are not required to participate in the challenge.

I went to one of these a couple of yrs ago. It was a Herbalife sales scheme so to speak. She pushed the products big time & it is usually only the ones that spend hundreds of $ on it that are in the running for the prize money.

It started off interesting but quickly got boring & did not make you skinning because obviously the product did not work as the women doing it was about a size 26...

People kept dropping out not that she cared since she had the money up front..I stayed a few weeks till she started talking even more rubbish.

The material you got was a photo copy of sheets saying to do exercise & eat less...nothing new.

I joined as I thought the challenge might be the motivation I needed.

Also last yr a skinny friend of mine was asked to help out a friend who was running one of these & asked me to help also...again the women was really big & the talk was the same & we were told to push the product, I could not as I don't like it.

Personally I think WW would be 100% better as they at least teach you how to lose weight while eating.
