I had a wooden one and hated it so we bought a new one the other day from the warehouse. I wanted a reclining one cos when they are so little their heads fall forward and its so hard to get the food in.

Toni I think I have the same as yours, or at least similar. I don't find it difficult to clean but the straps are such a pain. The best thing I've done so far is put an icecream container on the seat full of nappy-san soak, extend the straps and put them in there overnight. Takes a lot of time to then clean the suds all out and it doesn't get the full length of the straps, so I'm open to further ideas....

We just take the tray off the highchair after the child is about 1yo and can put it right under the table. But that was just a fluke on height.

One thing to bear in mind is, are you going to take it with you anytime you eat out (e.g. at friends/inlaws)? There are portable ones available which strap onto chairs but I haven't got one of those... yet

We got a Kingston portafold from Baby Factory for about $80 for Maya, great coz the straps were removable for soaking (Janola in water gets out even pumpkin and banana stains) and the tray was removable and had 5 point harness, but the tray was a bit far back. I've got one the same for the twins that a friend gave me but still deciding whether to buy a second one or just make do with one.

I have a trendsetter from Baby city.

Its GREAT!!

It has 4 lockable castors
5 point harness
Moves up and down....
has a removable top tray and the actuall tray can adjust for a more comfy fit...so when Zaara gets a big tummy I can move it backwards.

Has two toys on the tray to keep them occupied!!

Plastic seat cover for a easy wash....etc

I love mine...the best thing I bought!!

I bought it for $120 On special...actual price $160

You could put cleaning solution into spray bottle to get those parts that don't reach into bowl and use old towel behind straps and then just use water to rinse the same way, hope this works for you

can't work out how to do "quote"
