Im so desperate to be in this thread Im going insane!!!

I dont know why this month means so much to me! Ive just talked myself up for the last few months that its ok about the BFN because I know January is going to be the month man Im stupid!

What date was your last AF you girls that have got your BFP?

Posted By: emachan
Date Posted: 28 January 2008 at 4:31pm
I'm feeling ok - nervous actually that I'll miscarry again. Have had a bit of a sore tummy - but the doc said that its normal. Had my bloods this afternoon and will get them done on Weds and Fri then next Mon to see that they are doubling every 48 hours.

Booboo My last AF was on 28 Dec and I ovulated on CD 15 (according to my chart). got my BFP on CD 30 and EDD is 4-5 October

the 28th was the first day of my last period - thats when your due date is calculated - you can work out any month you would be due by going from this first day of AF (CD1)

Last time my doctor dealt with all my pre 12 week stuff (blood tests, blood pressure etc) as my first m/w appointment wasnt until after my 12w scan - turned out I never actually met her as I had my D&C on the day I had that appointment!
I'll just be going to the nurse for my bloods and seeing my doctor again on Monday to see that everything is going well.

When I was pregnant last time(I had a m/c)I called up a MW straight away because they get snapped up fast! I saw her when I was about 6 weeks along, but when I went to my doctor to confirm the pregnancy first, she sent me for my first lot of bloods(this is before I found a MW) and I guess my MW called them up to get my results onced Id signed up with her.
This time round I just called my MW right away to say I was pregnant again and she saw me within a week and sent me for bloods etc. Im guessing I saw her early this time was cos I m/c last time and she wanted to see how I was and stuff.

All independent MW's who are employed by the ministry of health are free Sarahg, all your necessary care while pregnant and in childbirth (and postnatal care) are free - unless you choose extra care or therapies (ie accupunture) extra scans (apart from those booked in by your MW and emergency ones). If you go with an obstetrician for your care, then you do pay for their consults while pregnant and in childbirth but if you are under an independent MW and need obstetrics care during pregnancy or childbirth due to complications or emergency then that care is also free. (ie, i was with an independent MW but my baby was delivered by an obstetrician and he took care of some of my postnatal care due to emergency and i didn't have to pay anything.)

Hope that made sense!

Just got a call from the nurse - my hcg levels on Monday were 1100 which is pretty good looking at the charts for just over 4weeks pregnant. The big scary test is today to see if they have doubled. I hope so! Having a bit of a sore tummy has made me so anxious!

Hey Sarah

You inspired me haha . . . I rung a midwife this morning. I was going to go with a group of ladies that I looked up a year ago when we first started trying. But I didn't feel like they were perfect.

I was going to ring them anyway this morning but I got online and found a perfect pair So we am going to see them next Friday. Yay.

Does your MW specialise in anything or is she just 'super help you have a baby lady" haha.

I really want a home birth this time, so thats something I needed to look for.

. . . oh my gosh, I forgot how emotional you get when pg. I was just with my dh in the kitchen and I dropped a pan lid and it scared the life out of me. Then I felt all horrible and started crying!!!! I was laughing going "oh my gosh, I think I am crying coz I dropped the lid!" haha.

I dont no if she specialises in anything, i want a hospital birth so it doesnt really matter.

I found her on the net is well, She only been a midwife for four yrs but she was a nurse b4 dat. And she even said that she wouldnt induce me any earier then 42 weeks coz she really likes laies going natually which is fine will me (unless i needed to).

Have you already got a child??

Hey Ema. Thanks for inviting me! and thats good news. Looks like things are going good!!

Yea we have a lil boy who is 9 in August. . . . it's so cute, he came out the evening we told him and said "I'm going to be a big brother in 38 to 40 weeks!" haha. He looked it up in one of his books.(we did tell him the months but kids are not good at time haha)

We have had a few close friends (and my sister in law on the day I found out that I was prg ), go through a mc so I feel fine that it's okay to tell him so early, it's kinda hard to hide anyway) . . but I do know some people wait a while to tell their little ones until its past the 'scary part'

Got my latest bloods this morning 18000 so definately doubling which is great! Got a referral for an early scan that I'll get done at 8weeks (unless theres any bleeding before), so looking forward to that!
Haven't really felt 'sick like spewing' yet, just still a bit weak in the mornings, gagging on my elevit tablet and then tired during the day!

ooo, pineapple - i can still remember gagging just at the smell of the stuff while i was preggers! (even though i loved it before being pregnant and am fine with it since Carys' birth!) Funny what pregnancy does to you aye girls?

The only thing i wanted for breaky in the mornings was cheese and tomato on crackers! Seems funny now, but at the time it seemed soooo NORMAL to be having that at 7am!!!

Good luck with your sticky little bubbas!

My gag fest was coffee, the taste made me vomit, and the smell made me gag and normally I'm a coffee-aholic.. it's definitely strange what pregnancy does to ya..

Any strange cravings yet

hi
I am hoping to be an October Mummy. I have not seen my doctor yet and am nervous as I couldnt get in till this Friday when both my hubby and I were free. I have had spotting for the last few days but it seems to have stopped now. I am told that 1 in 3 women experience some sort of bleeding in the early stages. I am feeling tired and sligtly quesy sometimes. All I have to go on is a positive test at home last Wed, so am very nervous and very much looking forward to seeing my doc on Friday. Nice to read what you are all going through.

Hey Mac30!

A positive test sounds like a great start good luck with the doctor!!

. . . I havn't experienced spotting, but from what I have heard (like you say) it is a common enough thing. . . except I can still understand your worry!! It's hard not to worry about anything

I took my test last Monday. . . we are due on the same day

oh its exciting to find people in the same boat! I took a test last Monday too but it was negative, waited 2 days and got a very strong positive. Still doesnt feel real to me, which is why I am hanging out for the doctor!

Have you seen your doctor?

(PS how do you all get that indictor on the bottom of your message that says when you are due, I dont seem to have one)
