I've got an old Mountain Buggy (one of the original Terrain models). You have to hold your mouth right to release the catch to fold it up, which can be a PITA when you have a screaming baby in his car seat wanting the car to start moving NOW, and it takes up a fair amount of space in the car (luckily we have a station wagon). But it's very sturdy, we live in the wops and it handles the gravel driveway and roads really well. Don't know whether the more recent models are more user friendly or not.
We've only got it because we're cheap and it was free (we picked it up out of the inorganic collection in Remuera!). -------------

we've got a newish MB urban. only drawback is its size but I love that it's easy to push and maneouverable (sp???). It's pretty easy to fold up and has a good basket underneath for when I spend too much at the mall. Also will be a problem when #2 comes, but I'm planning that to be a good few years down the track! ------------- Mum to two wee boys |

I would be interested to hear everyones comments, as I thought I would splash out and buy a MB this time round, but they do seem to be quite big when they fold down...although I know they are lovely to push!
For that reason I am considering a Phil + Teds...does anyone have one and how do you find it? |

I have pushed a friend's P&T with the extra seat on and found it heavy and harder to balance. I'll quote Emma since she's still internet less and can't speak for herself - she found the P&T great with the twins, but had their only been one, she would have probably gone with the MB.

We have the P&T Vibe as we needed a double for when womble arrives.
So far we love it .. although our Jeep pram is better offroad, however the Vibe is designed for urban use so that was a trade off we knew about. I love the brake is on the handle and it can fold with the double kit attached. (And it looks super comfy!) ------------- Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months) I did it .. 41 kgs gone! We've got the MB Designer, basically the Urban with flash fabric.
Pros: I do ALOT of walking so I love it for that, I love the basket underneath for putting any shopping that I do. I only lock the wheel when I'm running. Otherwise its on swivel which is really handy. I've heard really good things about the MB Swift which they released a month or so ago I think. http://www.mountainbuggy.com/catalog/buggies/swift/ - MB Swift The MB is easy to fold down and up - I do struggle to get it into some smaller cars eg: My sisters and dads. It fits fine in our station wagon. Oh and I really like the rain cover especially if its windy, I'll use that one rather than the storm cover. Better coverage for the boy. Cons: Some shops don't cater for buggy's which pisses me off, particularly woman's clothing stores. I find it really hard to get around. Sometimes its a pain if I want to nip down the shops, its a bitch walking up the hills if I've got the basket full...... ------------- Mr Mellow (16) Miss Attitude (8) Destructa Kid (3)

We've got the P&T Dash and I'm happy with it. The brake is in the handle which is good.

Oh and I forgot to add, I've used Emma's P&T a couple of times and I had a few issues with "driving" it and I found the brake really hard to "engage" Cooper seemed happy in it, especially in the laying down position.

I've got a Quinny Zapp- its not suitable from newborn but is a good alternative to a stroller.
Its light, folds down really small, looks good and is so easy to push. Cons are the storage isn't very good and it doesn't recline. Those are fine for us as we bought an undercarriage basket thing for it and Kate has never slept in a pram anyway ------------- Jen, Charlotte 7 & Kate 3

I have a MB Urban Elite (which I'll be using very, very soon) in red 
So far, with the trials runs I have been doing, it manouveres easily, is sturdy, I love the fact that the front wheel can be fixed or free. I also brought it, as I am an exercise freak, and need something that can handle me going for daily jogs. But also for DH, as he will be the primary caregiver, and will be walking everywhere. Rach179 - MB have released a new model called the Swift, which is replaced the Breeze model. However, with the Swift, the front wheel can be fixed or free (compared to a fixed front wheel with the Terrain and Breeze). It is designed mainly for use in urban areas (such as shopping malls and flat smooth terrain), so because of that, is a lot smaller than the Urban and Urban Elite. DH and I are going to buy a Swift as well in a couple of months, when Lucian gets too heavy to have in a sling. Just for when we need to go to a shopping mall or if we travel. They do look really funky. And not badly priced as well. The good thing with both the current MB Urban, Urban Elite, and Swift models, is that the seat lies completely flat for newborns. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I've got a valco trimode buggy (very similar in looks to the MB), and also had the additional bassinet attachment. I really wanted a MB, but the blasted thing folds down on one hinge, and the length was too big for my car. The valco folds down into more of a box shape, so it fits! It is wider though, so I do have issues in shops. The front wheel can be locked straight or to a 45 degree angle, which is good. Some suspension would be nice for outdoors, but generally it's pretty good. the seat does go flat, but as I said we used the bassinet for the first 3 months.
overall, pretty happy with it, especially as we got a good deal with it from TradeMe. -------------

I have a bugaboo frog, I love it, I love that ds can face me when he's tired and grumpy or face the world when he's happy. Its handy to fold down, you take the seat off then fold the frame which makes it light, it also comes with a bassinet. It is small enough for shopping & I have found myself not really using my umbrella stroller at all.
I also have a Maclaren Techno XT which I also love and have used since my son was a newborn. I have had a mountain buggy & a phi & teds, I prefer the phil & teds just because it folds smaller & it isn't as wide as the mountain buggy. |

We have the MB Urban Elite with the carrycot on it at the moment..
I love it, its stylie and easy to push (not that I ever get a chance as DH has claimed pushing as his job lol) and its strong and sturdy. My only complaint (so far, DD only 3wks old) is that the carrycot, even without baby in, is so heavy! The Mothercare strider can face in or out (the handle swivels) We got one when Issy was teeny as she hated not being able to see us. Rach179 - you are probably best to call MB themselves and ask if it is suitable for long walks/light jogs.

we have a p&t and I it! It was good when we just had Amy but is fantastic now we have Sophie as well.
Have never had issues going into shops/mall with it and it is great for when we all walk the dog on the weekend - we are usually out for an hour or more and the girls don't mind. The brake was very stiff to start with but got easier to use with time. eta: we have the e3 in red - would like the new sport if I won lotto!! -------------

Hi - I got a second hand mothers choice with my first as I wanted the baby to be able to face me. Unfortunately with the handle in the reverse position it was almost impossible to steer so I ended up with him facing away anyway.
Now I need one for two I have been looking round - my son won't sit in a mountain buggy because the seat is not upright enough. I think the P & T is the best I have seen but the cost is a bit scary - I am trying to scare ut $600 so I can buy the classic model from the Winkalotts website. But the car needs new brake pads and the power bill is due and it's Christmas.....

We have a valco runabout and four years ago when we got it it was the best. It folds down to a good size, swivel or lock the front wheel, take the back wheels off for more room. The only problem I had with it was that it was too wide to fit down the isle of the bus. Now i kick it and curse it all the way down the road...the swivel keeps going sideways and catching, the lock sits so it is not straight so I have to keep pressure on one side to keep going straight....and I still cannot get on the bus. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I have the bugaboo cameleon and love that i can clip the carseat on and off it. It also comes with a carry cot part.
I have also had a phil and teds sports and dash and mountain buggy terrian and urban elite. I liked the phil and ted better as it was lighter and folds smaller. If we have another baby we will get the phil and teds vibe with toddlers seat :) ------------- http://lilypie.com">

We used/use a front carrier for Emma - to begin with it was back facing and she found it safe and snug. She still loves it but faces forward nowdays. Also nowdays, Gina likes to walk a lot and helps push the pram - in fact she will quite often object if we try to put her in the pram. We have managed using a variety of things including DH holding Gina when she's tired. To be honest we have not found it to be a problem and I'm glad I didn't get a double as I never liked any of them. ETA: my advice would be to wait and see how you manage before buying a double - the bugaboo is really such a nice pram. We bought a Bertini Mio off trademe and we love it, its a little like a bugaboo it has bassinet and seat attachment so folds down in 2 pieces but very light and fits into our sedan, though doesn't leave room for anything else. Bubs can face you and face away. We liked the idea of 4 wheels as it seems more stable, and it can go offroad and is very easily manuverable. We've found the bassinet great for travelling, but DS is growing out of it. They don't make them anymore due to design flaws but espirit has brought out the same pram and they are now marketed under the name rock star baby.

argh the dreaded pram.
We have a milano 3 wheel stroller from baby city, we got it coz the capsule clicked in, never do that again. its a pain in the shops the only thing it is good for is walking etc. so we got a little 4 wheel umbrella stroller a couple of weeks back from famers doesnt completely lie flat but he's old enough not to need it that much. | I too am curious about whats good and what isn't. i think i would prefer a 4 wheeler when we do actually get preggers and one that can have a toddler seat i would prehaps look at a 3 wheeler too but they need to be easy to fold down and not take up too much room in the boot either. Just a wee observation has anhyone noticed how closed tot he car exhaust some bubs are when in their prams? i particuly noticed this with P&T that had the toddler attachment on it. I don't mean to make anyone paranoid it was just an observation i made. |

We had a Double MB urban when Ryan and Katelyn were babies then went to the childcare rover twin stroller. The MB was huge with it being a twin buggy thats why i got rid of it i loved the rover stroller thou.
For this bubba i have been looking on trademe and found a stroller called the BAM i think its a phil and teds but not sure can't seem to find any more info onit on google. | We bought a phil and ted sport brand new and its awesome. We found most prams when folded down were huge. The phil and ted i light and really sturdy. we live in a rural area and it gets a thrashing and it takes it no worries. Its one of the lightest prams too coz i have a bad back and my husband wanted us to get a light one for when i have to put it in the car. Its also really easy to collapse down. |

I bought a older Pand T's off TM used it for awhile, hated it., sold it, Got a MB Breeze cheap off TM is great for shopping, fits easily into shops etc. and for Air travel etc Not so good for walking as no suspension , not much padding for baby either etc.
Also bought a Bugaboo Cameleon from TM totally in luv with it, use it everywhere, beach farm, walking etc. as a high chair while on holiday etc. super easy to steer, lift in car (4WD) i dont even need to fold it down. Like that u can change the fabrics to suit and make it different. Only complaint is that mine is red/black and seat has faded and i'd like a girl next so will clash!! lol. Wont sell it as hope to have DS walking and using the skate board (yet to buy) by time no 2 comes along.. Good resale value when time comes thou. |
