Sounds like a very high protein, basically no carb diet?

Good luck with it though. Not something I'd personally do. Carbs are important IMO

Thanks
Yeah to start with No carbs and No sugar but you do it in phases and reintroduce those things at later stages. The idea is that you eventually eat a normal healthy diet that isn't full of carbs and sugars as your cravings for them reduce. We shall see!!!!

I saw a program about different diets like juices, eating clean & this one. The results were pretty even & I think the only juice one had the most loss the fastest but once eating food they put on again.

I was looking at it as always looking for a quick fix even though I know eating clean & exercise is the only way.

Ah I'm not ab ig fan of high protein diets to begin with but now I'm studying to become a personal trainer I dislike them even more. Brain's energy use comes from carbs. I personally don't wanna starve my brain let alone my muscles

I personally don't think any diet is good, but it does not stop me from looking

The only way to lose weight & keep it off safely is by watching how much you eat & exercising.

First step to weight loss is all in the mind & I think that's the hardest step.

I'm doing the Dukan Diet. and breastfeeding my almost 7mo daughter (she's started solids now too).

start date 28/7/12
start weight 130kg
weight lost so far 10.7kg

I do not believe that a pure protein lifestyle is healthy but i do not believe that my weight is healthy either and i am choosing to lose the weight in a manner that i am finding to be manageable. I have tried many diets including shakes and weight watchers and have had varying levels of success. I find that the strict rules of this diet are very helpful to my focus.

my brain is fine. thank you for asking :)

If looking at it in terms of caloric value, protein and carbs yield the same value per gram...so if ones goal was to follow a low carb diet for a long period of time, there seems to be little point. What is the difference is the type of carbs eaten.

Polly Gillespie seems to be doing well with sticking to the Dukan diet....and I guess that if you follow it through and at the end eating meals and snacks that more typical of a normal, healthy diet. without the weight gaining back, then each to their own.

Yep glucose (which when not consumed in its natural form, is made by the metabolism of carbs) is the brain's only source of energy...and is the body's quickest source of energy to use as well, so carbs most definitely have an important place in our diets.

Well done on your weight loss though Erin.

It sounds good, But I don’t think only Quick weight loss diets can be effective without any exercise . Do they work ?
