Hi

I am new here and would like to know if any of you use the bumbo seat.
To me it looks a bit unsafe. Have any of you had any close calls?

Also before I buy one I see you can get one with a play tray. Like this one here. - www.gotitall.co.nz/bumbo-baby-sitter-with-play-tray.html

Is it worth getting this tray?

Cheers

In my experience a bumbo is very safe. A baby would have to be very big and moving with quite a lot of effort to move it. If the child is that strong then prob old enough to sit unaided or in high chair. Ours came with tray and it is great as a substitute highchair. Now with number two he is in bumbo on table and toddler is in booster seat at table for dinner.

Actually today while I was indisposed for about 2 mins I came out to the lounge to find my 15kg toddler sitting on the tray with my 5month old in the seat. We had just finished a floor picnic for lunch, not on the table. The tray and seat held up well...no side effects visible.
