2furkids DH and I are both 36 and live in Christchurch. What about yourself? You must be so excited to be having your first! Although I must admit the excitement is just as strong for me this time too. My boys are all quite spread out and my youngest will be at school by the time I'm due. He was going to be our last but I couldn't help myself! Ugh I've read morning sickness doesn't kick in until about 6 weeks but I'm sure I'm starting to get nauseous at various times during the day already!

We are waikato based and I am 28 DH is 31, pretty excited about it all as I feel like the last of my friends to start having kids, but I feel less excited than I have been in the past 6 months leading up to TTC because I have been following the forum groups for a while now and am all too aware how often pregnancies are lost this early, so dont want to get too excited about something that may not work out (since it is so early!)

Had very few (if any) symptoms so far, I have heard that from 6 weeks onwards is when it really can kick off so I am just waiting and hoping for a smooth run! Its funny how the previous person to be pregnant at workplaces can set others expectations of how you will be throughout pregnancy - I have a hard act to follow as she is/was fit as a fiddle, ran up to 30wks and hasnt had any pregnancy symptoms or late preg side effects at all!

Oh no that would be a hard act to follow! It's so hard that you feel the worst in the first 12 weeks but that is when you have to try and keep it a secret. I've told one person at work I trust just so I know someone there understands, although I haven't even told friends, parents etc and I'll try and hold off as long as possible. It's so hard to though when its such exciting news. I was actually in the Due Feb group but had a miscarriage and it did suck telling the people that knew. I just really didn't expect it to happen to me but I'm more cautious this time. But that's a depressing topic and our chances are still much more in favour of everything being totally fine so we should just enjoy it!

Hey!
I had a massive BFP on monday and had a scan today and I am 5w5d due on the 2nd. I have 2 kids already, a 6 year old boy and 1 year old girl who was born may last year. We were only planning to have 2 kids. Then I got preg in july and had a miscarriage and this one snuck through before we got any concrete contraception in place. Is there a FB group set up? I'm happy to start one?

Hi nervousmama!! Yay we have another one!! welcome to the group, I am really un-technical so wasn't going to try setting up a fb group, was hoping that someone would come along with the knowhow! So if you know how to set up a group that would be great, have to be secret though as I don't want all my family/friends knowing at this stage

I can understand your worry anthea, and having a daughter stillborn means there is no 'safe' point in pregnancy when you feel you can relax. Just remember that every pregnancy is different and try to enjoy it rather than letting the fear of something going wrong take over.

I am not that worried at this stage, I already made the decision that I would not be getting excited or attached until we see our 12 week scan is all good, I come from an animal background and understand how mother nature works in these things, I am also aware of the odds of early miscarriage and if I happen to be one of them then so be it, that's just how nature works and that the next time will most likely be different.

Wow 2furkids - awesome attitude to have. Cant say I could ever be like that though lol, Im excited from the first test. I have done 9 so far lol since my first test on Tuesday!!!! Its going to be one very long pregnancy.

I do actually feel this pregnancy will have a positive outcome though, I don't know why. Even before I knew I was pregnant I felt like this month would be my lucky month, I even thought it was going to be a boy. Then the day I tested someone had commented on the photo of my angel from 2 years ago, I felt like she was sending me blessings!

It is a bit different for me, this is my first pregnancy and we got pregnant the first month trying. I have been around this forum a long time though and have seen the heartbreak a lot of people go through, so to start with I was super paranoid but then I realised that they were not my experiences and that at this stage I have no reason to be worried - further down the track if these things happen to be then it will/would be different.

Its good that you are feeling positive about this pregnancy though, enjoy that feeling

Hi everyone! I just had a positive pregnancy test (cough multiple as i didnt believe it!) on the weekend to mine and my fiancé's surprise and I'm off to the doctors to confirm on Friday. Based on my LMP I'm due in May

When do people normally start looking at their LMC? I know a lot of people say straight away but I'm paranoid that I will jinx things by setting all these appointments (I miscarried in January about 5 hours before my doctors appointment..Murphys law sure can be nasty sometimes).
So exciting to see other people at the same stage and experiencing similar things!

Hi Jemma, welcome to the group It probably depends on where you are and how popular your chosen midwife is, as to how early you need to book your midwife (if that is who you are going with). I just went and saw mine yesterday to get forms for blood tests and early scan if I want it, I will see her again around the 10-11 week mark I think.

Hello everyone :)

I'd like to join the group too but want to wait until I've announced it to my family (in case something pops up on facebook that they can see haha). 2furkids I'll PM you my email address/name for it in the meantime.

I went to the doctors on Friday and it looks like my HCG must be doing alright as I got as strong positive on the doctors urine test within about 30 seconds! Had heaps of blood taken though to check everything is OK.
Looks like I'm due May 12th!

How has everyone been doing??? I've been feeling surprisingly energetic in the mornings but I crash the moment I get home from work!

Hi ladies sorry I dropped the ball in setting up this thread and posting this - here it is now :)

Welcome to the Due in May 2016 thread and CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! What an exciting and amazing journey you are now on!

Welcome also to the OHbaby! community :) Here you will get to make some fantastic friends, learn from others experiences, share a tear and a giggle with each other.

We have two Due in Threads created each month:

1. PUBLIC:
The public one is great for general chat and banter

2.   PRIVATE:
The private thread is password protected and is great for you to share photo's of baby bumps, make sure noone can read about it before you let the ‘cat out of the bag’, and generally talk about stuff you don’t want public reading ☺
If you want to join the private group (at the bottom of the forum home page) then the first person in the group can Private message me or skiltz and then after that, that person is a ‘password keeper’ who do a little shout out on the public page saying PM me if you want the password from then on anyone who wants the password or to be a password keeper can do a shout out saying they are free to be pm’d also for the group’s password.

If you want one of those fancy pregnancy tickers along the bottom of your post, you can get one here:
http://lilypie.com/Maternity_and_Pregnancy.php

Please do sign up to the weekly pregnancy emails - you can do that by adding your pregnancy in your profile (you can also add your scan pictures when you have one and bubs will be there every time you login to the website). We recommend signing up the other half as well so they know what you're going through and how baby is growing too :)

COMMUNITY AND SUPPORT
We have an amazing community of mums and mums-to-be that has been going since 2001. You are now part of a special group of mums and mums-to-be. The OHbaby! forums have been the envy of many a forum, that has created friendships that last a lifetime. Have supported some mums through post natal depression and are rich with conversation from past and present mums who talk about everything! Kids health, chicken pox relief, reflux relief, morning sickness relief, relationships – you name it! We ask that where possible if you meet here you keep your community and friendships here in the forums online, though we have seen many mums over the past decade become life long friends, and raise all their children together chatting online and catching up in person from time to time when they organise catch ups from around the country!

Most importantly, we don’t control what you see on the forums. We don’t prioritise popular posts, the forums are simple and friendly, and no advertisers are allowed to post on the forums (we had side ads sometimes, they keep us going, but never posts in the forums) ☺ This is your space and your community of mums. What we offer here on the forums is very special as each mum from each due in thread, with older babies, with toddlers or more kids – are all here, interacting, reading, chatting and giving support and advice in a caring community ☺ Pretty special!

So! We wish you a great pregnancy, no awful sickness all smooth sailing and lovely sleep-through-the-night babies and great feeders! If that doesn’t exactly happen, feel free to come here and chat about it with other mums and mums-to-be and check out the sites awesome pages of stories, expert advice and more! This site is growing every day with new content so be sure to check-it out ☺

Wishing you THE VERY BEST PREGNANCY!!!
From the team at OHbaby!

Message with details sent to Caitlin and Estelle.

Just an FYI for anyone else - unfortunately the FB group is now at the stage where we are not accepting any more new members. Partly due to the size of the group. The other side of it is that the majority of us have had the last 6 months to get to know each other and the information we share can be quite private/intimate, especially around birth, and sharing that with newcomers could be a bit unsettling for some members as FB is not an anonymous media.

We are a small group on the May Babies private thread here on OhBaby, but newcomers are most welcome to join us there - a bit different as it's all anonymous. Just message me for the password.

Hope to not cause any offence to anyone, the decision was made as a group and was not a decision made lightly.
