Honestly if it stopped one child being abused I wouldn't mind being asked.

When I went into hopsital last year (ED at 9pm on Saturday night) I was asked these questions. I looked at the nurse like she was crazy (I hated that nurse not a very well liked one in ED by the other staff). I answered the questions as I have nothing to hide, but I can see some people going to hospital with their partners that have hit (the next phase of the cycle remorse) and their partner trying to hide everything. I also thing that even thou it is woman and children that are the major statistic I think men also have to be asked (make it fair and have everyone asked and not just single out woman).

I would have no problem being asked if its really going to help in some shape or form.

Wouldn't bother me either, but at times I can answer yes to Q2 and 3.

I was asked by midwife, when I first met with her. No problems at all with it.

Me too .Mel, my m/w asked if I lived in an abusive relationship and had I ever been threatened by my husband! I said I hope not, I only married him 3 weeks ago and I don't think I would have married him if that was the case!

Although at first I was shocked to be asked the questions, I also thought what a great way to help find these monsters in our society and to give the opportunity for someone to speak out if they felt they had no one else to go to.

As to your Q busymum, I have no problem with them doing it, anything to help those poor little kiddies that have no chance at life!

I have been asked this question many many times.

I have no problem being asked and welcome the opportunity to help others.

At first i thought it was silly. But then i thought about it and its actually probably quite a good idea.

If it helps people in abusive relationships and kids that are being abused then im all good with that.
I dont mind being asked cause its not like im in any relationship anyway lol.

I don't mind being asked either. My Plunket nurse asked me similar questions when we first met.
