My antidepressant dose was increased a week ago,..then early hours of Thurs am, I started getting itchy. By 6am I was covered in hives, and had a cough and wheeze.
Long story short- I needed 2 steriod injections on thurs and again on fri, and am on a cocktail of prednisone and phenergan.
My anti-depressants have been stopped, and I have valium to take over the weekend, then review on Mon.
Im so drowsy, and still covered in hives and itchy as, and anxious about suddenly having meds stopped..poor me

Still have hives, but they are seperate spots now,..not one big mass. The itch is manageable. I have been ok today off the anti-depressants, but I guess they still in my system. Have just taken the valium now before bed, plus phenergan. Will see how I am tomorrow, but not keen to take the valium 3 times a day,..I will be a zoombie!

Update (cos I need to vent, and I need sympathy!) :

All the hives went by sun afternoon. Now Im just suffering the effects of having had my antidepressants stopped so suddenly.
Last took them last wed night. The stuff that its doing to my body is so awful. I feel nauseous, spacy and blank like my mind is really foggy, Im still having palpitations, and get shaky and anxious. The nightmares are the worst tho. Ive never expecienced anything like it, so so frightening when Im trying to get to sleep, like Im trapped sort of. It seems so real. Horrid.

Went back to the Dr today, and this might go on another week. I now have something thants apparently better than the valium to calm me, and hopefully I can get some decent sleep.
The plan is to get over this withdrawal period, then reassess how Im doing on no meds. I would really like to be able to manage without them. More professional
supports are in place now, plus more family support, and Isla in daycare a bit, so Im really hoping I can do it without havent to start on somehting new.
The thought of adding more meds to the mix is scary!

Went bac
