So silly...I forgot to ask when I should take some pain killers! I had the surgery at 10.45 and wasn't expecting much pain as I had a D&C for polyps before and had no pain. It is now 1.20 and I am starting to feel pretty sore in the abdo and lower back. I wonder if I should take something now??? Or not until 3 (4 hours after op).

Hugs Fiona. Sorry u had to go through all this. Did they give u pain relief when u were there? What did they give u to take? Then I might be able to tell u if u can take them now or not. If u havent had any panadol for the last 4 hrs, u can take them now, reguardless of what other meds u were given there.

They gave me pain relief suppositories (charming) while I was asleep. Nothing orally. They prescribed panadene and voltaren + anti-nausea med (which I don't need ATM).

The supps were prob either panadol or voltaren. They should have told you what they gave and when to start the oral ones.
It would be ok tp take Panadiene now- cos its 4 hrs after they gave u whatever it was,..but I would wait til dinner to have voltaren, cos 4 hrs is too close for voltaren,..plus it shouldbe with food.

Tx Kellz.   Panadeine did a good job. Will just take voltaren with dinner tonight. I tend to naturally get on top of pain quickly so should be fine by tomorrow.
