Yeah JJ my boy was every day, then out if the blue went 9 days, followed by 15 days. Since then he has been every 2-3 days 4 days max. It is completely normal for a breastfed baby, so depends how your babe is feeding. I also rung plunket line and they encouraged feeding, a warm bath, pumping / bicycle movements of the legs, and clockwise tummy massage may help. As long as there is lots of wet nappies and gas all should be fine, but you know your baby best!
At a certain age it is normal for poo habits to change, or so I've read. If you are concerned I would certainly try plunket line or your plunket nurse.

Hi ladies, just new to forum, let me introduce myself, I'm a mum of 2 MB who is 2 1/2 and TB who is 10 weeks today. Even though this is my 2nd baby I feel over welmed with housework, parenting and thinking of returning to work! So my guilts and if only I had a crystal ball lol Don't belong to a coffee group as I dislike the competitive nature of some, I know not all like that but do feel like you are missing out on the girly chats, so thought try an online chat

Welcome Guest :) the chat really seems to have dried up here of late, but we are normally really chatty. My boy is 16 weeks old, but technically only 9 as he was prem, due late March.
I am also returning to work soon and have been overwhelmed with making bottle and formula decisions, as well as trying to manage home and looking at getting back in to exercise.
Lots of changes with my little man which I am loving!

Welcome Guest, as PM said we are normally pretty chatty and active and have been a great support to each other for a long time now.
We have all had our times of being overwhelmed, even those on here who have more than one wee one too.
AFM I have a nearly 13week old wee boy who certainly knows how to make us get settled then throw us through some loops when he decides to change it up.
Well C had his 12week jabs today and was much better having DH there and C settled like a super star, just showing off to daddy I think. His dermatitis has flared up really badly so spoke to the Dr about this today again and we have a stronger steroid cream to try and have been told to use the weaker one on his face for 3-4days. It could be an allergy to something I am eating so am cutting out dairy and eggs for 2 weeks and also have bought some special laundry liquid especially for kids clothes so am hoping to get our wee smiley boy back.
To top it off solids seem to be working a treat at night as he slept from 8pm to 6am last night.
I have a tummy bug or yucky thing going on and was really not well at all last night and had really bad nausea too. Am living on toast, sprite and water today - am also wondering if it is because I went for a walk and also my first run too yesterday.
Anyway back on a healthy track from today and cutting out all the dairy will certainly ensure I eat healthier too - aww no more cheese, mayo, milk, yoghurt, cream, ice-cream :(

Ugh, WB, hubby and I have been sick with a tummy bug all weekend. Not nice in the least, but thankful LM didn't get it.
Had another Plunket visit today and he's grown 14oz in two weeks so is now 15lbs7oz and grew 2.5cm longer. I thought he had been growing as he's been hungrier of late.
This is a great group and I have loved being a part of it. It has been quiet the last week or so, but hopefully that doesn't continue. It's a great support network.
I have been feeling overwhelmed and am now on anti-depressents which'll be kicking in anytime now, so can't wait! So much of my stress is of my own making in my head, so once I'm more stable emotionally, I know I can get my brain right.

Oh SB I am so glad you are on some AD's that will just helpyou get through the days and become more yourself again and better able to cope with the day to day. And remember the beds can wait to be made, the dishes can wait until LM's next sleep and you deserve some "you" time.
Feel a bit better tonight and even managed a walk, which turned into a run as it started to rain, so feel good I did something but my energy levels are pretty low.
Tried Pear with C tonight and he wasn't keen on it but also put it down to perhaps him not feeling too crash hot after his jabs. He only had 100mL of formula tonight too but went down without screaming as was pretty tired so hope he sleeps well tonight.
Big day tomorrow we have decided - COT TIME. He is just about popping out of his bassinet so D day tomorrow for day sleeps for the rest of the week and then will do his first night on Sat night when DH is home on days off. Any tips or tricks to help the transition would be great.
Have a good night ladies.

WB, thank you for the kind words and encouragement! Love this place. Since we put LM in his cot around 6 weeks, I put his bassinet mattress on top of the cot mattress. The cot one is inner sprung and harder while the bassinett one is soft. I tried him without the b one, but he didn't sleep well. So since then he's still sleeping on it, though soon I will wean him off it by putting a soft blanket underneath the cot sheet. That's how it's worked for us

Well just as I went down to sleep our wee man woke beside himself and really unsettled. He had a poo filled nappy but felt warm so took his temp and it was 38.1 much higher than his afternoon temp of 36.6
Anyway gave him pamol and called plunketline who reassured us this is normal post immunisation as the 2nd one is much stronger so to try and keep him a little cooler and expect it to last 24-48 hours.
So here we are waiting for the pamol to kick in and bub to get tired - he is enjoying chats with daddy at the moment so lots of smile, goos and gaas going on despite obviously not feeling himself.
Might try a sheepskin under his sheet to start with as am also thinking it may be too hard to start but we will the day sleep goes in the morning.
Oh an giving the pamol was entertaining, too sweet for our boy and became a game of who could get it in quickest bit by bit during smiles :)
Night ladies - soon to bed I am hoping.

Welcome guest! My wee boy is 10 weeks tomorrow, crazy!
Oh WB. Hope Coen is better today! Caleb had a temp of 38 yesterday too for no apparent reason, he was grizzly all day but I put that down to his night sleep being shorter than usual. He did 10pm till 5 that night then was up again at 630 so not a huge amount of sleep overall but a solid block. Did the same again last night so hoping I can start stretching him out even further.
Yay for Coen graduating to the cot too. C is almost out of his bassinet, so I've taken the extra mattress out so now he has a little extra room but a harder mattress. I though about what SB said about the inner spring mattresses being hard so thought I could transition c from soft to hard mattress in his bassinet (I had a woollen mattress made for the bassist cause I didnt like the hard foam one it came with) so he is still in the bassinet with the foam mattress which hopefully means come cot time he will be OK with the firm mattress. I've also had to start to wean him off swaddling cause the cheeky monkey busts out of every swaddle I do except the miracle blanket, but even then his feet are always out. He just can't get his arms out. So, sleeping bag time when we move.
Do you think he will notice the change of environment in a new house? Im hoping he is still to small to really notice much difference so it shouldn't be too bad, right?
I think I'll definitely have to put him in his cot when we move in three weeks. That is gonna be a stressful week I think, he is due for his 12 week jabs the day before. Eek.

LJ didn't really like the water too much ended up syringing it to her! And poos today so feeling a little relieved haha!
waterbaby- there is no dairy in mayo :) I'm still not eating any milk products however I have accidentally eaten things with milk in them simply cause I'm just not used to checking! also 8pm - 6am sounds like a dream. I'm hoping my wee lady does that at 3 months! At the moment shes up at 1am (from 7pm), then 4-5 am. not too bad I don't think. I've tried putting her to bed later but she wakes at 1 every time so i thought the longer sleep the better and hoepfully it'll extend on its own.
as for the cot- we just popped a nice thick blanket folded a few times on top of the cot matress under the fitted sheet. worked a treat she's been sleeping in there for a few weeks now and no hiccups. you might be surprised that they don't really notice too much! one thing i did do was i put my lady down facing the wall and wedged her because we sleep her on her side, so she couldn't look around the room, because in the bassinet there was walls so youc ouldn't really look anyway. GOOD LUCK!
Does anyone know anything about starting immunisations late? LJ didn't get her 6 week ones and I'm just wondering if they do everything the same? It's so nice to hear all your wee bubs are doing well.

Hi all, haven't been on here much lately because there's just not that much to say for us at the moment! All is fine and good. While we still have our unsettled moments, DD is a delightful baby who is just continuing to make us so happy and proud! no real dramas of late.
We are also embarking on the basket to cot transition. So far I'm just putting her to bed in the basket inside the cot. I want her to get used to napping on her own - I would just move the moses basket around the house during the day so she was always with me and all the household bustle. So will do that this week and then I think put her to bed in the cot proper over the weekend. Eeek. We are getting good night sleeps, from 8:30, 9ish til 4:30 or occassionally 5:30. I sometimes wish she'd sleep longer but then I tell myself to get a grip, she's only a baby and I'm feeling fine so it's all good for now.
JJ, don't worry about the poo - we've been 14 days between them and all the Drs say it's absolutely fine for a breastfed bubba. We're now at about once a week... Means the farts are pretty powerful though haha!
Shakeybaby, well done on getting support, I think you're amazing! Hope everything comes together for you soon and you feel better.
Well it's freezing here so hope you're all warm and toasty and have a great day.

JJ I think starting them late is fine, they just make sure to have the same spaces between the next lot etc (I think)
Cold here today, can't imagine what it would be like without the oil heater on. Hi Guest, I have a 7 week old little lass. I think she might be one of the last ones born in the group. I like this forum too, a lot less catty then some coffee groups but do have to say as this is number two for me I did not go to antenatal classes and don't have a coffee group this time around. My first one isnt going anymore as everyone bar one other lady ended up moving away. I still catch up with her but she works full time so its not like the good old play date days. Another friend had a baby in March and we are both in the market (haha this is going to sound silly!) for some new friends so we are going to start going to some community based coffee groups soon, like at the local Plunket etc. I would like to meet some other families to make it easier for DP & I to socialise together. At the moment it seems like most things we get invited too are kid free which isnt really ideal anymore. We want to be able to go out and have fun together as a family & the first step I think is having more friends in the area with families themselves :)
I've been finding brekfast really difficult so as of today have started having a Complan with fruit milkshake instead of worrying about cereal etc anymore. This way I can make it and then continue on doing what needs doing. Its quite fulling too, I had mine about 2 hours ago and Im still full.
I bought the spare room mattress into the lounge on saturday night - wish I did this 7 weeks ago! So relaxing, I've slept in here everynight since. I bought Olivias cot mattress in as well so she's sleeping beside me on that. It might sound mad but its so much easier with Mr3 in the mornings, he will eat his brekkie and watch TV and I can keep an eye on him while snuggled into my duvet. Fingers crossed I dont get any surprise visitors or I will just die! haha
Edit to ask if anyone else is haivng trouble going to sleep? I havent been able to fall asleep before 12pm for the last week nearly and its driving me insane and making me a little nutty

Thanks ladies for the welcome Sweets know what you saying re getting invited to kid free events/get together s, and we to wanting to wanting meet up more with other families. Our group of friends have kids etc but the mums either work minimal hours, nothing wrong with that and I was working part time before I had number 2 but a lot more hours than them and neither times suited all....... motherhood does and can change things for sure But hey never a dual moment. Right better go and get organized to feed the wee man and then pick up Miss MB from preschool. Hopefully we have a tantrum free arvo so over the terrible 2's. They differently make you appreciate what your parents did and do for you now that I am a parent lol Hope you are all having a great day

Wow...I feel a bit mean...I just tucked baby boy straight up in his cot instead if his bassinet and that was that! He was fine though! Now we have to start weaning him from wraps as he wiggles rigt out of that and his blankets to the top of his cot in no time. It's cute, but means he needs his sleeping bags instead of wraps.

Pm, good thing b took to the cot easily! Hoping c does the same come cot time.
Gave c some baby rice today, he has been super grizzly the last few days and booby just doesn't seem to be enough for him. Was at mums today and he just cried every time I took him off the boob after he kept falling asleep, so mum said to try him on baby rice to see if it made a difference and holy Molly the boy just wolfed it down. Gave him another teaspoon before his bottle just now and its like he is a completely different baby, smiling, gurgling and chatting away where the last few days I haven't been able to put him down at this time of the day. Hoping it helps him sleep that little bit longer too so maybe, just maybe, he will go through the night.
Hope you ladies are keeping toasty tonight!

Oh, hope the night went well Pookie!
LM slept through the night two nights in a row! Couldn't believe it! He woke up once last night, fed him quickly the bottle and put him straight back down. Am hoping it's the start of something new! It is so needed, I am so tired all the time.
Snow here in Chch though not heaps, but still nice to snuggle down under a feather duvet and hottie and listen to the weather.

ooo.. Sb. Its pretty chilly here in AKL, got the heater cranking, but the sun is shining and I'm probably just being a wuss.
Pretty good night.. I think C would have slept through the night had I not accidentaly walked into his bassinet @ 2am getting up for the loo and woken him up. Oops.
Then at about 4am, I heard him muffled grizzly and thought WTH? Turned the nightlight on and poor boy had managed to unswaddle himself completely and had the swaddle over his face and he couldn't shift it. Scared the crap out of me! It was just a square cotton wrap too cause he spewed on the miracle blanket and its in the wash.
Got him down for his morning nap really early today (just after 8, normally down closer to 9) in a "wrap me up" swaddle I got given for my baby shower. At least he wont be able to wriggle out of that one, time to invest in sleeping bags I think. Good thing he is going in a cot soon!

Pookie I must be a wuss too as it is so fricken cold here in AKL I agree. And scary about the swaddle at least you heard him, poor wee thing.
Well poor C can't catch a break and has picked up a virus from when we were at the Dr for his imm's on Monday. Am a bit peeved actually as his temp as you know was high on Monday night so we called plunketline and told them it was 38.1 and they said it was reaction to imm's and not to worry just give him pamol. Anyway told the Dr this today and she was fuming as she said underarm temp of this high is WAY TOO HIGH and we should have been told to go to the Dr straight away as it can be dangerous for them - now she has given me some ranges to watch for but suggested it was actually this virus that would have shot his temp up.
Anyway pamol, rest and fluids are the go and he should start to be feeling better.
Have today taken a leaf out of PM's book and put C down in his cot for his lunch sleep and other than a quick grizzle when his dummy fell out he has been asleep for 1.5hours. Just swaddled him and Safe T sleep'd him and covered him in blankets so hope this is a good start but will need to get a sleeping bag soon as he always kicks out of his blankets even when he is swaddled.
Keep warm ladies.
