Topic: 10 month old today! Posted: 25 August 2005 at 11:19pm |
So we had a bit of an exciting day today. jake turned 10 months old officially and daycare said he took his first step!!! A little excited but all a little weary as he's been a "mischievious" little child for a while now.
He has also developed taste. Today he skipped over my cheap maybelline makeup, to find my $90 a bottle Chanel makeup. And he also learnt how to unscrew caps. Not impressed!
He also learnt that exposing Mummy's breast in the supermarket is funny.
And tried for only child supermacy by grabbing and twisting daddy while in the shower. ( i wasn't allowed to laugh)
and now he'll probably be off in a few weeks....dear God help me.

Happy 10 months! And congrats on the first step!
LMAO about exposing mummy in the supermarket, I can't remember if you are still in Japan but I can imagine all of their serious expressions if anyone happened to see!

Hey Lizzle! My son Alex was 10 months old yesterday too. Thank god he hasn't taken a step yet. Its bad enough that he gets into everything just by crawling. Standing by himself though so it won't be much longer.....sigh. ROFL at exposing you in the supermarket!
I remember when my Aunt's family came over to NZ (all Japanese) & walked in on me breastfeeding in the lounge. I got 4 faces of disapproving looks for "exposing myself"
The grab, twist & pull to Daddy has happened before too. Alex thought it was hilarious Spencer wasn't as impressed though for some reason....

jake has done nothing today despite me and Lewis trying to make him move. We put a toy out of his reach. he stands up...and sits down and crawls over. guess it's easier than walking, or trying to walk.
As for the supermarket incident, everyone pretending nothing had happened at all.
It's funny Toniellis but my Japanese teacher used to breasfeed all the time. I;'d be at her house for a lesson and she's whip it out and start feeding her one year old. But my English mate Darryle gets really funny and wouldn't be in the same room as me!!! I gues like NZ it depends on the person.

When Gracie started walking it was just 1 or 2 steps here and there and after a couple of weeks she was sorta walking 25% of the time. Now after nearly 2 months of walking she never crawls anymore and runs away from us if we try and stop her doing something LOL. She's a little terror, but in a cute way LOL. She's pointing at stuff and waving now too, and said her first word on monday, pointed and the cat and said 'cat' now she says it every time she sees one LOL.

Jake I'm sure has been saying "whos that?" when he looks in the mirror. Lewis thinks I may be clutching at straws but I SWEAR he said "f**k" when he fell over today.

hahaha lizzle. i'm pretty sure hannah's first word is going to be something similar. that's the disadvantage of being brought up around a whole bunch of uni students. we are all rather uncensored with our language. (i think i'm the worst)
I think today might be the day to change all that. No more swearing!
I'm sure Hannah says "what's that?" when there is a big noise! She looks around all confused and points somewhere and says "dat?" Well... it sounds like it anyway. We'll see.
