Topic: Testing Posted: 18 January 2008 at 5:26pm |
Hello Ladies,
I thought I'd just pop on and ask you all a question.
I had a m/c just before xmas. I was only about 4.5-5 weeks so very very early.
I am wondering if there is any point in testing this cycle as I would think my cycles would be mucked up?
If I went by a 28 day cycle from bleeding, today is day 28, so tomorrow would be late.
I had m/c 8 years ago, and got my next af about 28 days later.
What would you do?
Thanks :)

I guess for a poas addict like me, i'd test anyway lol.
A friend once told me that you are a your most fertile after a m/c. She conceived twins straight after one lol

If you didn't use precautions or abstain, there is every chance you can get pregnant again.
Most people start ovulating again straight after a natural miscarriage.
Fingers crossed hun!! I hope you get a BFP!!

Nefertiti, we're pretty much similar stories and I know I ovulated bang on time this month after my m/c on boxing day... I too thought this cycle would be a bit mucked up but I chart so was able to see my progress and even tho my bleeding lasted a little longer and was heavier my body seemed to bounce straight back - so I'm with you holding out to test to see if we're lucky again. All the best for when you do test.

Nefertiti, from what I've heard also you have a higher chance of catching this time because after a miscarriage your body has already gotten itself primed for a pregnancy. So good luck hun. AF is due today for me, it's 9pm and still no sign of her so who knows... I'm trying not to get my hopes up because after all she could be just a bit late.

AngieBabe - i remember us both posting around the same time about our m/c's. i dont chart at all, so have no idea if i even ovulated or when! i am just guessing around the normal 28 day cycle. Good luck for a bfp
TraceyA - i remember someone posting on here about the body 'being primed', so it was probably you lol! i hope you get your bpf!
Again, thanks everyone! its good to have ppl here to talk to and bounce ideas and thoughts off...sometimes the DP just doesnt get it lol....he said today to just test in another week...he just doesn't get the poas addiction lol....i just said try being female lmao

Well I'll be back to the BDing in a few weeks :(
I was getting excited as my AF was two days late and woke up this morning to her surprise visit. I'm trying to stay positive and think about all the good things about not geting a BFP this month, but it's hard. I had really started to think that this was it, looking at the little growth charts of "your baby is 3 weeks and this big" etc, not a good thing to do I now know, ahh well.

Well I tested today and was another BFN.
Every now and again I get the twinges of af arriving, but so far she hasn't, no doubt I'll wake to her arrival!
Tracey, I am the same as you! I thought I was the only lol - in regards to the little growth chart. I guess its so easy to be curious about what 'if'..and what progress 'if' you are. Hopefully next month is your month. Have you had a prediction done?

When I mentioned the predictions to my DH he scoffed mightily and made some comments about spending all our money on just getting pregnant and having non left for the actual baby that I thought it would be politic of me to stay away from them for now :)
Crossing my fingers for us both for next month Nefertiti.

Stink to hear that this month hasn't worked out girls. Fingers crossed for next month!!
Totally with you on the obsessing before you have even got a BFP. I used to over analyse every single month, and still do now. Just part of being a girl I guess. It's why men don't have babies!!

I think I'll leave it a couple days before testing if af hasn't arrived.
