Ok so my period appeared to start on Friday but never went beyond brown spotting then stopped altogether and there was nothing until this morning and now I'm bleeding like crazy (overflowed a mooncup and went through a tampon in what seemed like record timing! ). I don't have any painful cramping or anything but there are some reasonably large clots I don't normally get.

I did have a funny feeling I may have been pregnant this month as my usual pre-menstrual symptoms were worse than normal...but a test yesterday was negative.

Is it possible this was still a chemical pregnancy?? Or am I completely nuts?? (also very possible)

I don't think you are nuts.

Could it be possible that you were pregnant but the HCG wasn't high enough to be picked up on the test as you had already started to MC???

Either way it is still sad

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

it was probably nothing but your body reacting to all the stresses you are going thru at the moment. so i would say no, but you might just be nuts still tho

*hugs*

It sucks when you can't be sure.

On one hand, I'd say your internal 'clock' as it were might be out of sync from the graveyard / shift work etc, and this could definitely affect your cycle, as well as any other stresses.

On the other hand, it could have been a chemical pregnancy but these things are hard to establish - are you TTC again yet?

I hope you are able to find some answers, or at least some peace within yourself about it.

Edited to add: As you probably know clots / spotting / general cycle wackiness are run of the mill for me, so I don't mean to come across as blase about it! Just wanted to be clear

Nah we haven't been TTC, it would have been a complete fluke!

And yeah...I thought we all knew I was a little nuts!

I had a very same thing and for me, it was very unusual. I put it down to stress. Ironically I got pregnant the next month but MC at 10 weeks. Normally my periods are like clockwork.
