OK, well for the last year i have been seeing a high risk maternity team to help me get my diabetes to a stage where they consider safe for me to concieve at. That was achieved and as you all know dh and i started officially to TTC

So had appt today with an obstretrician <sp?> and he sat down with me and gave me an overveiw of some of the fertility issues you can get etc. I also saw my normal doc i see there too and she has ordered progesterone test and blood PG test just to be sure.

If that comes back -'ve then i have some progesterone tabs to get af going so they can do day 4-7 test and day 21 test for progesterone.
I will add here that the reason why they are jumping straight to testing rather then waiting is mainly for the the fact that i have never had a natural period. Ever. Not before i went on the pill, not when i took a six month break four years ago. never.

DH has a little jar too for spermy testing.. fun fun! gotta get that done on friday in our way through Ellerslie on our way to Taurunga
After that he <ob> is writing an referral letter to fertility specialists, so i can get a more through look over etc..They said that they want me to fall pg sooner rather then later.. But he did mention that my diabetes plays a much bigger role in this then anything, i had no idea, i thought that biggest problem will be when i actually fall pg, but apparently not..

There was also something they found in my last lot of tests, i cant recall what it was, that can be a cause of recurrent miscarriages as well. Ive had two in the past, but thought nothing of it at the time.. Good to know tho.

Does kinda make me feel a little guilty tho.. As i know some ladies have to wait for a full year before they can get in to see fert specialists.. I kinda feel like im jumping queue, you know.....

That's great news!
My step-sister has type 1 diabetes and has two gorgeous kiddies!

I wish you luck with all the fetility testing. Don't feel bad for "jumping the queue". Having lived with my Step-dad and step-sister for years, watching them go through what they go through, I can totally understand why you're getting put on the fast track

That it great news. Don't feel bad about jumping the queue as you have a "different" issue. My nana has had T1 diabetes and she went on to have 6 children and 2 of them were twins. And she had more problems with her last pregnancy (she was 37) than she did with her first with the twins.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Hey, don't feel bad. Lets face it if you don't get periods then you're not ovulating and if you're not ovulating you can't get pregnant naturally. So, there's no point in starting ttc without help. Glad to hear you are getting the help you need and deserve.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about jumping the queue, they probably make most people wait at least a year as there's still a high chance they'd get pregnant naturally but if they already know you'll have difficulty it makes sense to jump the queue.
