yes, again, another head injury.

At least this time is was on the other side of her head......

Little monkey was bouncing about in the bath after i'd gotten paris out and was dressing her. I hadn't even begun to wash ayja or do her hair or anything.

Ayja as i said, is bouncing about a little leaning on the edge of the bath, saying "you're silly billies" etc. as she does

I turn to help paris with her singlet, and hear a thud and a scream - turn back and see ayja fighting to stop from slipping under the water.

I just grabbed her out, wrapped her towel around her and grabbed paris's used towel and chucked it against me and cuddled her up. i consoled her for a few mins then look down to see blood running down the towel.

She fell on the side of the bath and hit her head on the edge when she slipped and hit so hard that she has split the skin and cartilage of the side of her ear, and that bent backwards hard enough when she hit that she also left a huge dent in the side of her head behind her ear....... of course all i saw was blood at first and thought she'd cracked her head open... nope - just her ear.

So she now has some steri strips to hold it together because the doc didn't want to subject her to stingy glue and said it would be too hard to stitch it due to where it is and her age - so we wait and hope it heals, her ear is so swollen she looks like mickey mouse. I hope it heals nicely as her ears do sticky outy a bit anyway, but at the mo this one is sooo darn huge.

We reckon she did it to get out of eating her veges - we got her dressed as quick as and went to the docs, so of course our meal that was just being dished - was left on the bench to go cold - and Of course - we got Maccas instead on the way home.

Ha - i just went in to check on her and she has everything snuggled up to her like usual - but has left a big space around her ear, has even moved the covers away so that it doesn't touch.

That poor girl - it's always her head!

Oh no! Poor wee Ayja! I hope she heals up quickly.
You must have had such a fright
My two have had the worst of their injuries to their heads too, I think it must be because that's the heaviest part of their little bodies??

"See - THAT'S why i tell you not to bounce around in the bath"

There really is no way to stop us turning into our mothers is there?

Oh poor wee Ayja.  That must have been frightening for you too, to see the blood before you could identify how bad the wound was.

I must have driven my mum nuts, I was accident prone too and have cracked my head open 4 times

PMSL, that you've turned into your mum... I do exactly the same thing.

Yup, I'm exactly the same! Once I know they're alright I launch straight into the "now what have we learned?" speech!

Ouch! The ears seem to heal up quite well, Janine. Hannah split her ear at about 2ys from doing a rolly-polly and landing on my shoe heel The panic is awful!! But she got the strips too and it healed very well.

LOL about dinner!!!

She's not too bad today - the bruising has come out behind her ear though - ouchy ouch! Swelling has gone down, but her ear now looks a little - less normal that the other one.. so hoping that it's still a bit of swelling.

Was her 1st day back at daycare today after a week off for a cold though. she was fine - apparently didn't really care about it too much unless someone knocked it.
