Sorry I am not much help as we were very lucky to get pg quickly both times. Before we started TTC #2 I asked the same question and got alot of mixed results, some got pg quickly the first time and took ages with #2, others were the opposite.
Good luck

Hey JDs Mum
Big Hugs
Sounds to me like you have secondary infertility. Not sure exactly what that means but apparently its really common.
Ive been trying for number 3 for 12months now but my dilemma is because i was taking Depo as a contraceptive hence why its taking so long.
Have you been to the docs? I am about to get bloods done to find out a few things.
My son is turning 5 this year and i didnt want to have such a big gap (as big as the 9 years with my first and him) but since its taking so long to get preg, the gap is getting bigger and bigger...........and its driving me nuts............
My second took me 6 weeks to concieve and my first 6 months, so this is all a whole new game for me to have to WAIT
this site is great for info on why and how to help things along, Im learning so much about how it all works
Good luck, hope it happens real soon for you

hi ya- yeah we have had some tests done before Jackson was born. i was ovulating okish and so was my husbands sperm... nothing to rave on but there was sufficient amount there. i have started acupuncture to try and conceive again. maybe its stress but so hard not to think about dates etc when you want a baby!

I just wanted to wish you luck and I hope that you get your BFP soon .
We are trying for my 3rd child and nothing has been happening so I totally understand where you are coming from, I really didn't want a huge age gap either but my youngest son is going to be 5 in July.

Hate to add doom and gloom but we have been trying for 3 years and 4 mths.
I have managed to concieve twice but they did not stick.
I have a wonderful little boy but he is starting to get only child syndrome. People say "you should e happy you have 1 already, but I really dont feel like our family is complete yet.
We will keep tryng, hopefully one will stick soon
Good luck, hope you get a BFP real soon.

We're not even onto our second yet, still trying for the first! This is our 14th month, so it def sucks when it takes so long.

Grrr Dayna people who spout that are as bad as the ones who tell you that miscarriages are 'probably for the best'
to all of you.
