Jake has started on solids as of last thursday due to low growth and a lactose intolerance (we are hoping the solids will help bind the food in his tummy as the lactose intolerance is causing diarrhoea).

At this point he is only having rice cereal mixed with soy formula and it would appear that he is a fan. I know I was told to start with a teaspoon and slowly increase but he is seriously wanting way more. He cries when I stop feeding him and today he had a tablespoon of rice cereal powder mixed with about 50ml of formula and he would have had more if I had given it to him.

He isnt vomiting it up, but it feels like such alot of food for such a little person. Does this sound like too much or is it ok?

From a teaspoon to a tablespoon over 5 days sounds perfectly reasonable. If you're worried about it being too much, and he really is enjoying it, make it a little runnier so there's more in a serving but it's more liquid IFKWIM.

Spencer was like that, a piggy from the day we started solids. I just made sure that he always had milk first andonce he started playing with it in his mouth or turning his head I would stop, or if I thought it was a really ridiculous amount then I would stop and offer him some more milk instead.

Yup am offering him breast first ...

Cool I dont want to end going the other way and over feed him! I had totally forgotten everything plunket has said about introducing solids.
