I think I'm ready to TTC again, the DH not so much, we've got alot going on at the moment, buying a new house, moving etc, so that will settle down in around 6 weeks or so.
He would like to wait until we're all settled and I know that's the best thing, but it feels like a huge achievement to even be "ready"
How did you other ladies cope with "trying", I am scared of actually really trying and month after month nothing, must be devastating ... and then there is always the fear of another MC?
I guess we just have to stay positive and wish for the best?

Good on you for being ready already. Im now ready - my mc was mid March, but was complicated with severe blood loss, follwed by iron and blood transfusions and 8 weeks to be fully recovered.
Ive got preg very quickly all 3 times - well the 3rd took 8 months, but once I stopped bf #2 we concieved just 1 week later,...so Im not worried about that, but am freaked of going through this again, but there is nothing we can do to stop it happeneing either.

In the past we have chosen not to have early scans or bloods,..jsut the 20 week scan,..but now we will be having closer mointoring- I know nothing can be done to stop mc, but my baby didnt develop properly after 6 weeks, even tho I didnt mc til 11 weeks, so we will have bloods and scans to check the development before we tell DD we are preg. We cannot wait til 12 weeks as I show early and last preg people were guessing by 7 weeks preg, but we will have a scna to check all is ok first. Of course I could still mc after that tho,...but will do what we can to protect our DD from it again tho, and hope like anything I dont end up so sick and having a 3 night hospital stay again.

Sorry thats prob no help,...just me venting relaly,...but letting u know Im going through the same too! Good luck for ttc when u do decide to try again.

Sorry for your loss, it is really devestating. I had a MC in July last year at 9 weeks and it took me a few months to be ready again. Once I had accepted it wasn't meant to be, I felt ready to start trying again.

I conceived fairly quickly on the second month after my mc. It is quite scary and the thought is always there that it might happen again, but as you go through the pregnancy you become more confident. I believe you are more fertile after the mc as the hormones are still lingering.

The baby I conceived after my MC was born 2 months ago 9 weeks early and has been home 3 weeks. A true blessing, as scary as it was throughout the pregnancy it is well worth it.

goodluck for ttc

I'm not sure I'm 100% ready, I'm really concious of having a large age gap between kidlets and although this cannot be helped if things don't go to plan, at this stage there will be a 3 year age gap if we started TTC later this year, ideally I don't want a 5 year age gap, but again this is all down to nature blah blah blah.

I can understand regarding the early scans, but I am so thankful that I did do them this time around, the only reason I knew I would miscarry is because I fibbed and said I didn't know my dates, I knew them exactly and when the scan wasn't measuring correctly I knew then and that was only at 6 weeks. I couldn't imagine how horrific it would be going in for a 12 or 20 week scan expecting to see a little bub waving back at you and there is just this little egg sac or embryo

I really feel for you Kellz, my MC was a walk in the park compared, I'm glad you're starting to feel yourself again? Are you back at work? I remember you were feeling pretty awful a while back. {hugs}

I've always conceived very quickly too, that's why I need to be 100% sure that this is okay, physically and psychologically. My MC was just over 1 month ago, so not long really, AF has already arrived last week and I'm finally feeling like the hormones are settling down.

Congrats on your new bub, hope he's doing well being home, my Miss L was 5 weeks early and that was enough, pretty scary sometimes when they're so tiny. Great news he's home with you now

Yep Im fine now thanks. Have been fine since 8 weeks after the mc, but it was a rough road and Im terrified of a repeat of that.

We wanted a smaller age gap this time,..but my kids get on so great that Im not really worried that the nexy gap will be the same or even bigger. They are 3yrs3months apart- currently 5yrs 8months and almost 2 1/2 :)

Glad you're doing better Kellz
That's awesome to hear they get on really well, I've been getting so much feedback from other parents that a smaller age gap is so much better, you know all the "experts", it's nice to hear the other side

The age gap thing is something we worry about but really we dont have a lot of control over- as you and I know only too well,... so I just dont let it bother me,..what weill be will be.
There are plenty of siblings who are close in age but not in any other way, and siblings with much bigger than 3 years gap who are best of friends too!

Don't worry about a big age gap, my oldest two get on like a house on fire most of the time I didn't plan on having such a big age gap but it was brilliant. I'd had a miscarriage in between those two as well.

And good luck in TTC I had a miscarriage just before this baby and I got AF back and then I got pregnant & she stuck around. I was really really on edge and blood pressure was a bit haywire until I had that first good scan, and I passed the point of miscarriage & then once the 12 week scan came around everything settle back in to normality, if you can call it that.

Hi all,
I finally feel like I'm emotionally ready to TTC again now (after 2 miscarriages in a 5 month period - which each having got to 12 weeks before we lost them), but we need to wait till October as we are using a donor and he's not available until then. Physically that's a good thing though so that I can get my thyroid antibodies under control.
I'm into day 2 of a month long detox and feeling pretty blah - headachy etc. Not sure if it's the homeopathics, the lack of sugar etc or psychosomatic lol.
But yay for being ready to try again. Having this new diagnosis gives me so much hope, but I feel like I'd actually turned a corner on that the week before we found out about the antibodies anyway :-)
Good luck to us all!

I hope the detox gets easier. Ive given up caffine- been 4 days now. I was only having one coffee and/or diet coke a day - but thats heaps for me, but I dont want to be "needing" caffine, so going caffine free now. I couldnt give up sugar tho! Did for a while when DD was little but it was hard. Good luck!
