lol chickaboo:)

limo- it is hard not to read things into it..but feeling good is fine too:) wish I did..though i felt sicker with the last mc than any other time except now so I wish people would stop telling me being sick is a good sign!:)

I def couldnt keep it a secret....i suck at keeping secrets:) Just the thought of Ethan having to share me at the mo is a bit scary really.... kinda hard to get him ready to have a brother/sister and also to understand that I will still be there for him just not all the time like i have been!:(

Ah, I see, thanks Loulee!

I've just changed my due date (I know, already!). I've gone with the date my dr gave me rather than by my cycle dates, will probably change after the first scan anyways. Awww, Valentines Day, that would be cool! Plus it puts me three days ahead, hee hee, kinda feels like cheating

I tried to copy it and put my age in as well but I really can't do it so if someone could tell me then that would be great . Anyway my age is 28 and for extra info I am in Hamilton

I didn't sleep much at all last night cos I was up and down to the toilet and I have a cold which I also have a cough with so I spent the night coughing .

Thanks for doing the lettering Loulee it looks awesome

Well I have been feeling fine other than the sore boobs. I had to tell Cam 8 and Missy 10 that I have sore boobs and they will be sore for a while so be careful when they give me cuddles.

Cam has this habit of trying to bury his face into my chest when he gives me cuddles which is ok most of the time but not at the moment as boobs are REALLY sore.

Other than the boobs sore and growing the only other indicator is how aware of my lower abdomen I am, all the niggles and how it feels when I move certain ways.

Hoping that I don't end up with MS with this preg, I didn't with the last although with Cam I was really off a lot of food. I know this is likely to be different though seeing as its a whole different lot of genetics as the father is different.

Yay! I have been stalking the Jan thread for way too long!

I've put down my dates according to my LMP, but I reckon I'm at least four days out on that. I'll probably exaggerate the difference when I visit the doctor's today though, in the hope I can scam an early scan.

No MS yet. getting a bit freaked about it. Only sore boobs and no AF. Sigh. 12 weeks cannot come soon enough.

Welcome Sassy!!

Yeah I wouldn't say I have tender boobs, but I definitely have tender nips! I also am quite crampy or have more like burny sensations in my pelvic area. They wake me up in the middle of the night and are quite uncomfortable. So of course at 2.00am I start to worry that there's something wrong. And I'm on serial undie-check - anyone else like this??

I've been feeling quite sicky off and on too, usually in the afternoons - regular eating definitely helps this.

Monkey, I know, I totally didn't expect a BFP this month, I guess after last months chem my body was ready for it

I have to admit I had a couple of seedy moments yesterday but just thought it was my inagmination, hope it was.

Welcome Clare - good to see our list growing.

I have moments of needing to wee lots and then other times not so much. I have noticed that in the last week there has only been one night I have slept through though and for the last two I have woken at around 3.30 and had to get up to wee. I guess this is just the start lol

Yay for more Feb babies! Welcome to all the new mums.

Went to the docs today and she didn't really want to refer me for a scan, being kind of non-interventionist, but I was quite insistent (very good for me) and said I was freaking out a bit about no symptoms and would love some reassurance so she was all good with it. So next wednesday it is! Also meeting with my midwife next Friday so it's all go.

Having said that about symptoms, I went to town with a friend from Melbourne today (don't you love sick days?) and had to sit down in every shop we went into. I felt like such a flake but was just so exhausted. AND my jeans are starting not to fit. At 6 weeks? Jeez.

Congrats to all Feb mummies. I'm going to lurk in here as well as Jan as there's a possibility my EDD will be moved to Feb.

Babe I had heaps of AF-type cramps in the week after I got my BFP and they really freaked me out. They settled down about the time that MS kicked in! I think it's all pretty normal as everything starts stretching down there.

I think I have been getting the first signs of morning sickness last night and this morning.

Luckily they only seem to be when my tummy is empty and once I eat it helps. I have stocked up the fruit bowl so I am not tempted to eat too much crap.

Today is the day af is due so I am on undie patrol, I will feel better this time next week as I will know that af is a week late... Funny really that I dont trust the tests that I have done but its just scary after the +ve tests last month and getting af 4 days later.

I'm going to be brave and go to the Dr on tuesday to confirm pregnancy and then will find a midwife.. exciting

Does anyone else have hideous bloating? Or is that only my baby's joyful take on pregnancy? I'm usually a tummy sleeper, so not a good night last night.
Yip Tray, I'm a fellow undie patroller, even though AF's at least two weeks overdue. I don't see it stopping any time soon either! Fx for you, I'm sure this will be a sticky one.

Welcome Kats1 and the lurking Jan mummies. Good thing you're here as our ranks were looking a little thin. Guess everyone got busy in time for Jan babies then slacked off a bit.

Hi Ladies,
I'm going to join you. My due date is Feb 10. This is baby number two and will def finding out the sex. I had a mc in March this year and I am freaking out with every little tummy cramp I'm feeling.
I will have an early scan too just because I am sooo anxious about loosing another baby. My midwife is great though. I'm going with the same one I had the first time. She tells me chances are, everything will be fine this time. So fingers crossed.
Oh yes, and I am 40, so quite an old mum to be.

Question: What sort of vitamins are you guys taking? I'm just on folic acid at the moment but want to take a good vitamin as I am not eating as well as I should which is due to a 18 months old toddler I'm running after

Congrats to all Feb mums. It's so exciting.

I am on undie patrol too after my mc in jan i had 4 days of bleeding before i could get a scan so just can't wait to get over the 6-7 weeks stage.. (was new years)

babe, my son has aspergers and adhd as well. He also has a heart defect so that and the adhd is a bit of a contradiction .

I am on undie patrol because when I went for my scan the other day they found a small bleed at the bottom of my uterus but that was on wednesday and I've had nothing so I'm taking that as a good sign

Undie patrol member signing in - made it this far through the day af was due - did lots of housework today and now I'm so buggered I think I am going to have to learn to pace myself and do some each day I think because I only got half way through it.

I have to take Fish Oil for my ADHD so I guess its not actually for pregnancy though it is good for the neurological development of the baby.
I take Bvits coz it helps me with MS which believe it or not I'm getting already in the evening more though which is good coz DP is home. I picked up some naturopath spray which helped straight away this afternoon so yay!!

Haha yeah I see how those two things are polar opposites Alicia! What do you give him? You'd probably understand totally about the diet thing then coz thats a major ADHD factor and also helps so much with the Aspergers.
I also recommend no for the KFC! I'm being completely anal and avoiding anything that looks even slightly questionable (though its also an attempt to avoid any situations that make me feel sicker!) so yeah I'm most careful in the first 3 months then I eat pretty much what I want.

Yay for Alicia and Tray for no bleeds!!! I've still got about 4 days before AF is due so still a tad nervy BUT my wonderful midwife sent through the blood forms to check hCG levels so am getting the first on monday and second on thursday (day after AF due I think) so I'll have a good idea how sticky it is I hope!!!

Jake keeps kissing my tummy its soooo cute and weird! We're printing him a tshirt - I'm gonna be a big brother in Feb 2010!!! and in Sept we'll have him in it and see who notices first lmao can't wait! I'll be 16 weeks but I only started to show with Jake at around 6 months so am crossing my fingers that my abs are still in ok shape and I can hide things lol hmmm....

Well I think I have evening sickness I'm hungry and nothing appeals - blergh, I just want to drink coke

Anyone else found they feel almost breathless when they are feeling nauseous?

ETA: To answer the question you asked about vitamins, I am taking folic acid and fish oil. I have been taking the fish oil for over a year and find it great for my joints and focus in class. Used to take a womans multi but stopped it when I started TTC because I felt like a druggie lol. I know my iron is ok at the mo but will get the dr to keep an eye on it as I had low iron in both my other pregnancies.

re iron mine started brillinat but went to 8 at the end with E so i better watch that....

babe- good idea we are going to do something similar for Ethan (t short) I'm also anal about food .. people tease me but I don't care..after the mc's it sorta makes me feel like i have control even though i know why the first happened and it was a chromosome issue..

I've stopped worrying about my ureaplasma cells and my brothers bone disease he is the only one except my Dad who has a mild form ) with his type of disease in the world atm..they think I have no risk but it still worries me a little but been working on not stressing out about things I can't control..seems to be working so far:)

tray i hear you on the coke..but I'm super paranoid about that too so trying to not have too much.. ! and yes to the breathlessness.. good to hear others are the same:)

Just regarding iron supplements. Not every pregnant woman needs an iron supplement. Get a blood test first, otherwise if you are already high in iron it could be toxic. Secondly, not all iron supplements are created equal. Unfortunately the likes of Ferrograd and Elevit, (although they state they have large amounts of iron), only between 2 and 10% is actually absorbed) The rest is flushed out of your system and can cause constipation. Spatone has a higher absorbency rate and is a much lower dose so is better for you.

Morning ladies, I've been awake since 5.30am which is my normal weekday get up time. Isn't it annoying that you can't sleep in when you have the opportunity to!?

Welcome to all the newbies, yay the list is growing nicely!

Random fact/question - I was making toasted sandwiches last night, got the cheese out and I'm fairly certain that "Home Brand" cheese (from Woolworths/Countdown) isn't pasturised. Certainly doesn't say it on the packet and I vaguely remember an old workmate mentioning it about a year ago as he's into all things organic etc. Just thought I should mention it cos I would have assumed all regular cheese was pasturised and wouldn't normally check the packet.

I'm feeling pretty good at the moment, have odd crampy feelings every now and then - mostly at night, but I'm not really feeling sick. Am trying to eat regularly though which I've been doing for for a few months, basically since my m/c. Decided to start eating breakfast etc and more for lunch so I've just kept that up.

Gosh that felt like a novel!!

Thanks Babe for putting me on the list

Vitamins - I'm taking a multivitamin, folic acid and fish oil.

I'm studying to be a naturopath and just finished an assignment about fish oil and brain development - was interesting stuff!

I'll admit I had a wicked craving for kfc too the other day and I gave into it I was actually craving the chips more than anything but I had some popcorn chicken as well.

Got another assignment due tomorrow that I've barely started so I'll be spending all day doing that I think My own fault though, I just have no energy or motivation to get into my work at the moment, will be glad when the semester is over and I can have a break for a few weeks My DP has taken our boys to the beach for the day so I've got some peace and quiet to get it done, he's a gem that man!

lol sex is the last thing happening here at the mo, would rather go to sleep

Hope everyone is enjoying their sunday

Morning ladies,

Well if I was gunna get AF it would be due today, I have been getting cramps, but not AF ones & my temp stayed nice & high, so am pretty sure it is not gunna happen. YAY!!!!!

Got my m/c bloods back yesterday & I have a slightly elevated Anticardiolipin antibody result of 23, which is not necessarily a cause for concern.
But he wants me to test again in 8 weeks to check again.I think I will call him tomorrow though & let him know I am UTD & see if anything else needs to be done.

How is everyone else feeling?

I didn't give into KFC but we did have BK and both dh and I ended up with the runs (sorry if tmi) so I was cursing myself. It's funny cos with both my other pregnancies I never really thought about what I ate but this time is completely different I guess cos we have been waiting and trying for so long.

I wish that I had more energy but I just can't do anything, I get breathless all the time and when I stand for too long I feel really queasy

tastic- they monitor you at the hospital if you have had a pre term birth last time.. my mw said a person she knew had a pre term birth then a full term so th following time they didn't treat her..

so she is checking but because he came full term in the end (after three sets of AB"s to fight the ureaplasma they probably won't assess me.. but i will make them..if i'm at risk i want seen...my mw last time just took me to hospital and did three sets of swabs and then gave me AB's after results..

and re the horny thing..nope..:) too scared anyway!

aliasmum- yeah me too(the potato and gravy!!)

holstarr- yes i will be getting test first as i said last time wasnt till way later on that it went down ...i had bloods 2-3 x a week for last 10 weeks anyway ..ferrograd C was best for me..

lollies what do you study?

i thought all hard cheese was fine here?

re the runs i seem to get it and definitely not food related cause I've been so careful... think hormonal maybe too?:)

we are looking for a new house and a new car so might not be on much for a while...ugh awful when feeling like poo and looking after 16 month old!:)

Hmmm on the cheese subject, I went to Countdown today and another brand didn't mention pasturised milk either so maybe its just an info thing - perhaps some brands assume "milk" is enough and don't need to mention its pasturised. I can tell I'm going to be paranoid about these things, I'm such a worrier!!

Hey welcome Amanda

Well I am now convinced that I am pregnant - MS has kicked in already I have the full on saliva mouth and waves of nausea    Never had it last time and was hoping I would get away with not having it this time too - but obviously this baby had different ideas.

Yesterday was af due day and I took another HPT this morning and it was another BFP so once the Dr confirms the pregnancy on Tuesday I will stop temping - which is scary in itself.

I hadn't even thought about cheese being off the menu - other than soft cheeses of course, might have to do some more reading about this.

Anyone else absolutely exhausted??? Actually I think a coupe of people have mentioned it. I went for a nap at 10 to 3 coz I was so wasted and didn't wake up til DP came and got me at quarter to 5! Felt good even though I could've kept sleeping. I've decided I'm gonna start having a laydown when Jake has quiet time. If I'm this tired even when I'm getting early nights my body obviously needs the rest.

My temps are still up around 36.6 so I'm just keeping my FX. It would suck so bad to have to take myself off the list!! DPs got right on board though and its so exciting and I swear it feels like we're so much closer to each other. Yay my blood forms arrived from my midwife so I'll be getting my first test tomorrow to see what my levels are. Hey when would I expect my temps to drop if I am gonna get AF???

Tray I've had those hideous nauseus moments and I'm finding that morningmed spray stuff from naturopharm(?) is awesome! I'm getting onto the whole frozen dinner thing now coz I know its probably gona get worse. We're putting whole meals into the freezer in those foil pie containers you get from the supermarket. Once they're cooked and cool we just plastic wrap them and chuck them into the chest then we can unwrap them and pop the foil tray into the oven.

Thanks Tray Bummer about the MS, I've had a touch of it too this time, never had any with the boys - carbonated drinks are the only thing that make me feel sort of normal with the queasy tummy.

I think I'm on the home stretch for my assignment - need a break writing though so I'll finish the rest once the boys are in bed. I'm making a gluten free vegetarian lasagne for dinner though thats a part of it, have to take a photo then my family have to rate it LOL that should be interesting with my fussy eaters!

Four eyes, I'm studying naturopathy and herbal medicine Oooh how exciting - a new house AND car! But yes, very tiring as well, hope it all goes well.

Millyz, I'm pretty sure all NZ cheese is fine to eat, its the stuff from overseas thats potentially dodgy.

I'm glad AF didn't turn up NA 1, hope all goes well with your doc too.

Better go and get the roast veges out of the oven and make this lasagne with them!

Well I just finished dinner and thought that eating had kicked my MS - not so I seem to feel worse when I sit down and rest and I'm so buggered after an afternoon of cleaning, washing then cooking tea I need to rest.

Maybe I should ask the Doc for some anti-nausea meds for when it gets worse.

The biggest thing I can recommend is keep sipping water! It may not help with the MS (try sucking barley sugars for that incase its to do with blood sugars - thanks Liz ) but it makes things easier to throw up and helps ward off even worse MS that comes with dehydration!!

Man, if MS is this bad now I hate to see what it is gunna be like in the next few weeks. I feel so seedy & bloated.
Tray I am also finding it really bad after I eat & I have very little appetite.

I am already doin the water thing & have to pee every half hour coz of it, lol.....might try the barley sugar thing too.

I have heard that sea sickness bands can help????? anyone got any ideas????

Morning ladies.
I had a lousy weekend. Terrible headaches and feeling sick all the time. I used to get migraines and was hoping they would stop during pregnancy but didn't with my first one. Any tips regarding pain medication? I think the only thing is Panedol which is really useless with migraines.
Welcome Lisette. I am with you. Miscarried in March and wasn't going to join the forum early but still did in the end. It's just such great support you get here.

Welcome Lisette! There are a few of us the same as you (previous m/c) so we know how you feel! I think it helps to share these things which is why this forum is so great. I'm sure my DH doesn't want to hear about my fears about m/c again, preg symptoms, cramps etc all the time so its nice to be able to come in here and share with people who understand. Makes me feel a little less stressed.

So leading on from that, I'm kinda freaking out a little bit. Apart from sore boobs and ocassional cramps I practically have no symptoms yet. I know I shouldn't complain but it does worry me as its similar to last time. Going for my second set of bloods on Wednesday so hopefully that will show that everything is progressing as it should.

Its so hard not to worry!!
