Congrats DzinerGirl and others to come :) I'm due 1st June 2010. Got HPT+ on Tuesday last week and went to doctor on Thursday and blood tests confirmed I'm Pregnant!

Did you wait until after AF was due to go to the docs or book as soon as you got the +ve HPT? AF is due on Tuesday but due to the other lady at work being off from Thursday to next Tuesday I would have to go to the docs on Wednesday...is that too early do you think? |

AF was due and I only got spotting for 2 days then took a test and that's when I found out then went to doctor. If AF is due Tuesday and you are always pretty regular and you got HPT+ then I would go maybe. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

with the first few times i went to doc but he didn't do anything..lol so last time went straight to mw at 4 weeks.. none of them confirmed it though except this time cause i had to have hcg tests.. ------------- Mum to two amazing boys! |

Have taken another 2 (!) tests and the line has increased slightly in colour...slightly LOL. Have been getting AF like cramps all day which is a bit scary but cramps are normal right? With all the changes that are going on down there? 
Doc's appt is booked for Wednesday morning at 9.15am, so nervous I keep thinking that I'll get there and they'll say nope your not preggie! |

yip some cramps are normal, similar to period cramps but if you are worried ring your midwife or doctor even if it is just to put your mind at ease -------------

Hi Ladies, just got back from Dr and had BFP confirmed . Had my bloods taken by a friendly (and very pregnant) nurse who gave me the number for her midwife .... still struggling to believe its all real tho.

Hmm I just had a look at my dates on my chart and I actually think I'm only due on Wednesday! Bugger am I going in too early? Still i guess a positive test is reason enough to go in.
Has anyone been feeling hungry more frequently? Wow I have so many questions but I dont want to get ahead of myself.

Hehehe Cheryl!! you crack me up!! You sound just like me 3 weeks ago!!!! Dont worry, you are still not too early!! I felt STARVING for the first 2 ish weeks... Its settled down now, now I just feel hung over, like dry mouth thirsty and not hungry... Feel free to ask away hun!! Yay for the confirmation LeeBee!!
I emailed a midwife last night and she emailed me back this morning, she actually said that I didn't even need to go to the doctor as she can arrange the bloods, and scans etc etc but I'll think I'll keep my appointment for tomorrow and then give her a call afterwards. Her email response was really positive and friendly so that's a good sign
Got a bit of light-headedness this afternoon and the cramps are still coming and going. I can't wait to go to the doctors for a change, even though I'm nervous, I think it will make it more real

I haven't been having cramps exactly, but have had that dull ache that usually signalls AF is on its way ... since about the middle of last week! I figure its just the body adjusting to hormones etc. The nurse at my Dr clinc told me that the MW probably wont want to see me till 11 weeks - so I should book in to come back to my GP at 8 weeks. dziner- i had those cramps the whole beginning bit and now still get a menstrual type ache..it sucks but it's normal apparently ..i must be weird my mw saw me at 4 and 8 weeks.. ------------- Mum to two amazing boys! |

HAHAHA lol yeah I still dont quite believe it so will keep testing with FMU lol till i get a nice dark one. It took the whole 5 mins of test time to see the line so only just preg I think, trying to figure out how many weeks I am as ff said I ov CD 22....

Time has flown huh? You'll be looking back in a couple of weeks going where did the time go!
The morning sickness (which in my case should really be called 24/7 sickness) is pretty bad, feeling constantly seasick. Not that you wanted to know that, FX you're one of the lucky ones who doesn't get it. Keep telling myself its all for a good cause 
Other than that feeling pretty good though. Only 1 week til next mw appointment then another week week til my scan -------------

The appt went well, actually the wait was longer than the actual appointment! She basically said she wasn't going to get me to do another test seeing as it wouldnt be FMU so just sent me to go get a blood test, gave me a bounty pack and a new script for folic acid. Quick as!
Hopefully I will get my test results back tomorrow, depends how onto it Labtest is I guess. Spoke quickly to a midwife this afternoon, she was in the middle of a transfer to hospital for one of her ladies so it was a quick convo! I'm going to give her a call again tomorrow afternoon to have a chat about what's next etc and also to set up a scan for dating. Oh it seems so much more real now!
These hormones are going to be a problem though, I burst into tears at lunchtime for no particular reason! Luckily I was alone

You should be able to hear a HB from just over 6 weeks.. so you should be good I heard mine on Fri and she back dated me to 5w6d..

Don't be worried if you don't hear the HB ! I didn't hear the heartbeat until my 12 week US, at 11wks MW tried with Doppler and we couldn't hear it but we got it at 15wks! MW told me because they're so small they've plenty of space to hide! ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I am feeling really tired! anyone else noticing this?
My doctor was on Holiday when I went yesterday but the locum, who was really nice, told me that not to worry about a dating scan at this stage because its too early? & that I should come back in 4 weeks to see my Doctor & not worry about contacting a midwife after that? You dont have to go with the doc you can go straight to a MW and she can organise a scan for you when the time is right, i think you can get a dating scan around 6 weeks.... ------------- CHEM 6/12+ |

No didn't need a blood test, the doctor thought my positive test & theres was more than enough :)
Last pregnancy I had HCG levels done because I was bleeding alot & don't really want to do them this time, just want to enjoy it. So I will be 5 weeks on Sunday! Yay lol. I don't even know how I go about finding a midwife?? & then I have to decide whether to go to Taupo or Tokoroa...maybe leaning more towards Taupo. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Do you need a dating scan Biddy? I would get onto a MW, they can book up REAL fast,, so that would be my first task, worry about the rest later...

Yep I have been feeling tireder and have had a few cases of lightheadedness AND get hungry heaps quicker! No nausea or sore boobs yet but I have been told to expect MS to start at the 5 week mark.
My doc said I wouldn't need to find a midwife until I was 8 weeks too but based on what the ladies on here say it's best to find on straight away, as in now. The midwife I've spoken to didn't seem surprised at all that I was contacted her so early and she mentioned a dating scan straight away where as the doc didn't mentioned anything. I would start looking into finding a midwife, just so you don't miss out, it seems like the midwives can organise most things a doc can like blood tests and scans etc anyway. |
