Ooooh Marengo you're so lucky getting an early scan!!  I spoke to my mw yesterday and our first appointment is on the 15th and she said she'd organise a scan then...so I'' be 7-8 weeks pg by the time I get one pooohh lol I'm tired, sometimes have a sore right side...had that last time too, I think my corpus luteum cyst thing plays up lol. Sore bbs but not too bad...and heaps of creamy cm yuck  I've had the odd moment of feeling a little blah but generally just not feeling very pg! It's odd.....

hi emmecat, yeah i wanted to get an early scan cause of history of endo.. just want to ensure not ectopic or something.. really for my peace of mind!

its cool that we are the same amount preg heh..

my gp wouldnt refer me for one he said no its too early and you might get dissappointed if you cant see heart beat just yet, so i went back to my specialist and he was happy to refer me, said 6 weeks and 1 day should be fine to see the heartbeat! i cant wait cause it just seems like i'm still dreaming at this stage and im going to wake up any minute! me and my partner are so excited

yeah ive had he yucky cm also.. yesterday apart from my boobs didnt feel very preg either.. but today feeling a bit sick again and few belly twinges..   i say enjoy it while you can! or fingers crossed that MS doesnt turn up anytime soon heh..

hope everyone is having a wonderful long weekend!

Will be great to see if your dates match what the sacn says Marengo! Last time I was SO sure of my dates and yet Clodagh measured a bit behind the whole pg. I'm totally guessing my EDD....but think it's right a day either side lol

Pg-wise, I don't feel pg at all right now other than being knackered. My bbs look pg too but they kind of do anyway cos I'm BF  I guess in a week or two I'll be saying oh why was I worried about not having many symptoms....

I haven't noticed much of a difference in CM just yet, and it definitely feels like forever already that i've known about this bub! Only close family know so far, hope to keep it that way for as long as possible to avoid 'oh, haven't you had your baby yet??' comments in a few months hahaha.

Hope you are all having a lovely long weekend!

Morning December Mummies!!  How are we all this morning? I was feeling a bit blah last night and wondered if ms was starting...but i'm ok this morning so perhaps it was the 5 slices of vegetarian pizza I ate!

Am sooooo tired this morning. Clodagh decided she 'needed' to BF 5 times last night  that, combined with DF snoring meant this Mama got bugger all sleep! Will have to grab a nap when clodagh takes one I think!

Still not feeling overly pg...am sooooo tempted to poas again lol

Morning

Kriss I am just doing a little bit of work, I'm an osteopath and only started doing a couple of half days when my DD turned one. (6 weeks ago) So not much, which i am glad about in case the nausea sets in soon. Sure it will make it a lot easier to deal with if I don't have to work much.

Emmecat - hope you get a good sleep. aaagh I have had those nights, and they suck! Am finding am so tired at the moment. Its probably my biggest symptom. Had to have a nap yesterday and normally i find it really hard to sleep in the day.
I am still BF too, just morning and night, so hoping that by december I have finished! Would actually be nice to have a break in between but my little girl hates the bottle, so am trying to get her used to drinking milk out of a sippy bottle.

Bumblebee i haven't had bloods and don't think i will bother. I did last time and it was reassuring but felt like a pincushion... I do want an early scan for peace of mind though as had a MC before my daughter, so think the GP will refer me. Am going to go and see her next week.

Can't believe its only 8.15. This daylight savings is tricky to adjust to.

I had a blood test done to confirm pregnancy but I haven't had another one since then. My hcg at that time was about 123 I think, and that would have been around 3 weeks 5 days when that test was done. But my dates might not be right.

I am working, I am on a fixed term contract as a teacher until end of Sept so I hope to work until then but will have to see how it goes as Im monitoring my blood pressure at the moment. It was really high when I first found out I was pg but its come down again, so if it goes up again I might have to stop work.

My symptoms are mainly sore boobs, very tired, hungry a lot and some stretching pains at times but not all the time. I have had a few nauseous moments but not any actual sickness.

Does this sound about right for my stage? Can't wait for the scan

Any advice on double buggys? Can see the sense in a phil and ted because its narrower, but to me it looks like the kid at the back doesnt get much room? Hmmm decisions decisions. We have a second hand mountain buggy off trade me and I have really loved it.

Posted By: chunkymonkey
Date Posted: 05 April 2010 at 5:09pm
U could get a lil kickboard for the back of your mountain buggy or one of those seats that goes on front?

I brought a phil and teds one as we wanted a small age gap, goin to be a bit further apart than planned but still should hopefully be okay, the seat with phil and teds can go on front or underneath

depends on how you use your buggy. The phil and teds can be quite unstable when packed with two kids, prone to tipping. It's not at all suited to anything off road etc (most people don't know that phil and teds aren't of-roaders). I like the compactness of the PnT though.
Doulbe buggies (side by side) take up loads of room - I can barely make it through/round most shops as it is with only a single mountain buggy - I would dread taking in a double.

There are lots of side car type options around, depending on the weight of your eldest child. Or toddler seats. Or if elder child wasn't heavy you could try a soft structured carrier (like an ergo) or you could carry bubs in a sling or wrap carrier?

There are so many options out there these days, it just gets confusing sometimes

Welcome Weeheebaby

I also am not sure what to do about a pram.. we have a MB Urban Elite and love it to bits, I think we might keep it and get a buggy board for Ash (and hope she will stay on it lol). Never liked P&T's for some reason..

Having some really weird bloating at the moment, one minute I seriously look 22 weeks pg and the next my stomach is flat again Other than that and very slight nausea, I think i'm doing okay. Oh, and for some reason this pregnancy I am already needing to pee all the time!! I didn't get that at all last time.

I have been very naughty and indulged in lots of choc this weekend.. Not a good start, hehe. Last pg I gained 15kg and *hope* to stay around there this time too

Off to have a peek at the buggypod!

Have a great night ladies x

lurker here...

I had TERRIBLE bloating early on, flat tummy at the beginning of the day and felt like a whale by the end of the day - mega wind as well.

It went away around 16 weeks I think? The wind is still here a little bit but not too bad now :)

Good luck ladies!!

How's everyone going today - any more nausea?

I woke up during the night and again at 6 feeling quite queasy. I've taken to keeping plain biscuits and highly sugared drinks next to the bed for any time I wake during the night as last time round my docotr suggested low blood sugar is "one" of the contributing factors that "could" make a difference to MS.

Went fabric shopping today as I'm going to get big quick (I think so anyway, did last time and expecting more of the same) and really want to be comfy!

Hi girls
I went for a dating scan today because I really had no idea when my last AF was. They told me I was no more than 5 weeks and to come back next week so they can give me some dates. So that means it's likely I will be a December Mummy too

I had been posting in the November 2010 thread cause I thought I might be due in November but it's more likely to be December so here I am.

As you can see from my siggie I have 2 girls - Charlotte 3 and Sophia 1. This wasn't a planned pg at all but both DH and I are quite excited. I am still very nervous this early on since I had 2 mc between Charlotte and Sophia but I'll keep anxiously looking each time I go to the loo and hope for the best

ah wonderful news :) hello new pregnant ladies!!

ive been feeling not to bad today.. have made sure that i'm eating regularly and i felt quite sick today but no vomiting yet.. hoping that i just wont get it!

have had ovulation type pains yesterday and today.. anyone else get those? feeling less pg this week then i did last week apart from my boobs, they still hurt.. so.. i thought by now i would pretty much be in full throws of MS.. but i'm eating normally and do feel nausea but no vomiting.. whats with that?! hehe.. feel like i should take another test but have had no af no spotting and no cramps or anything so i'm sure shes still in there!

guess cause its my first time i'm a bit nervous!

Marengo I feel the same I have had no morning sickness, just a couple of moments of nausea, but apparently it's normal either way. It can kick in later on too. I am going to do another test for my own piece of mind though lol just because I still can't believe it's real.

I get some crampy type pains too on and off

Yay congrats swexy mumma - that is really exciting. Its good to be able to talk on here before you tell the masses. we are due on the same date    Will you find out if its a boy or a girl?

Hey Marengo, im second guessing every twinge and feeling as well. Totally normal. Just keep trying to eat regularly as it definitely helps with nausea. I never vomited with my DD but had all day nausea and even though its the last thing you feel like it really helps.
I wonder if ill be the same as last time.. hmmmm will probably find out about this time next week.

Hi Marengo - Not everyone gets MS (lucky ladies) - in fact it's quite normal to get MS and quite normal not to. I've had friends who didn't get MS and had no other pg symptoms so it to them they didn't ever feel pg till they saw baby on a scan (for most people 11 - 14 weeks is the normal first scan, well down this way it's usual)

How's everyone getting on with finding a LMC (or MW)? I've tired today and the woman I want may not be able to do it as she is potentially on holiday around my due date and she's said today that I may not be able to birth the way I want (due to previous complications), meaning a switched MW at the l;ast moment (standin) might not be the best option for us. Grrrrrrrrrrr. At least I know now and have a few months to plan mentally for what may/may not happen. Now I have to work out whether to go with someone who will def be around here on my EDD or stick with someone I know and like. It's so hard to find a MW down here too - you often have to book well before week 5 (scary aye)

Hello ladies,

Found out on Easter Sunday that I'm expecting on 12th December (although if bubs is anything like big sister, who came 12 days late, this will be a Christmas baby!)
We didn't find the sex out last time and we are not planning to this time.
I had a really strong feeling that I was pregnant virtually straight away (mainly due to weird dreams and tender boobs). At the moment not really feeling very pg, but last time morning sickness only kicked in between week 8 and 12ish.

Morning Ladies :)
Had a real tossin & turnin nights sleep last night, duno wot that was all about??
I didn't get MS with DS at all, i think i threw up a total of 3 or 4 times during my whole pregnancy and that includes the 1litre of water on way to scan and during birth lol.
I did get really nauseous though and had the metallicy taste in mouth ewww, i drank alot of dry ginger ale as that got rid of it for me.

For those wanting tickers just click on one of ours and it should take you to the lilypie ticker website

Yeah you put it in your signature just make sure you are choosing the BB code from the list of options. Also don't remove any of the brackets. There's a preview button on the profile page where you put in your signature so you can check if it worked or not

oooh i love the name game. My DD is Holly Scarlett, me and DH agree on lots of girls names but struggle with boys. Am trying to convince him to like Oscar, but am failing.
What else is on your list Lisaas101? Holly is a lovely name, we liked Ruby as well but she just wasnt a Ruby. Funny how that happens, and turned out ruby was number 2 on popular list so maybe a good thing.

Hehe tartankiwi so yes, I do it all the time.

I am so silly, I haven't been able to believe Im pregnant so I bought another test today and just did it, and the test line came up before the control line and really dark too :) so Im grinning all over again hehehe :)

DH and I both like Hollie Grace so far.

My other names for a girl are Bethany, Jodie, Cassie, Ella and Skye but there are others too.

Boys names are Tyler, Eric, Ryan, Noah, and Brayden but again lots of others too.

At this point I think it's a boy lol

It's coming up with a middle name and agreeing with DH that is the hard part!

Hi all and welcome to all the newbies

I'm not feeling overly flash...have nausea on and off but will be very happy if it stays at this level! Am looking forward to seeing my mw next week and getting a date for a scan to determine how far along I am...pretty sure my dates are right but could be a little further on I guess.

Me too, tartankiwi!

That's cute Lisa, I did a few tests with DD#1 too just to be sure
Hollie Grace is a lovely name, as are the others on your list. I love Noah for either a girl or boy, but my cousin has just named her bub that.

Oscar is a great boys' name, fingerscrossed.
I also have a really hard time picking out a boys' name..

Does anyone have a baby name website that they can recommend for less common names??

Tartankiwi- Me too feel silly as we just M/C and i should know not to get excited!

I've done 3 PT's at home and each have come up with two lines, go to the dr's today and one line HMPH! So got blood tests done just to definately confirm

I hate those tests at the doctors you never have enough pee, lol when I got mine confirmed at the doctors I could hardly go and the line was really faint but it was there.

Thanks Kriss :) I would like to choose a less common name too but DH never likes them lol so it's very hard

If you do a google search you can get heaps of sites like that

Very impressed that some of you are thinking baby names already. We had enough of a trauma finding a girls name the first time round that its going to be impossible to find a second one! Boys names are not a problem though

Welcome milo_ts, and Congrats!!
What is your due date so we can add you to our list?

Thank you to all "Lurkers" for the well wishes!

Gosh, there are so many factors to consider when choosing a baby name.. What are the most important ones for you ladies?? Does the meaning of names have any effect on which you choose??

Definitely -- meanings can sway me quite a lot.
Nymbler.com is a great name site, you can type in a few names you like and basing it on those it comes up with similar sorts of names.. lots of unusual ones.

I like names to have meanings but not essential... DS's name is Lucas Bradley.... Cas is my name and bradley is DH so it's a blend of both of our's

That's so cool bubblebee! Both our girls have family names for middle names but we might run into trouble if we have another girl cause most of the rest of the family names aren't that great.

We took AGES to decide on Sophia's name. Charlotte was going to be Geogia until I was about 7 1/2 month pregnant and I 'got over it' much to DH's dismay!

We struggle with boys names and with 5 nephews the list is even shorter (not that we would've been likely to choose any of their names anyway)

That is part of the reason we find out the sex (apart from my impatience!!) We need the next 20 weeks to name the baby

haha milo love your ticker 'more brain cells then paris hilton' hehehe..

EDD is the 4th, think the tickers out by 2 days. he he
went for a scan yesterday as we had some bleeding but all looks good! couldn't see much, so just have to wait a while to get a dating scan

we picked our names when we decided to ttc. altho we now have a few family members due before us so hopefully they dont choose the same names!! Our surname is dutch so we chose short names to go with the longish surname hehe

Milo Im having a scan next week and kinda scared hehe but Ill be 6 weeks 5 days by then so hopefully they will be able to see enough. Was it pretty straightforward? Im nervous that I wont be able to hold all that water you have to drink lol

There's always a chance Ill be further along too hence the reason for the scan.

Marengo I havent had burning but I have had all kinds of pains and twinges etc so I think unless theres bleeding its usually nothing to worry about.

I have had a very sore lower back today and random moments of an af type cramp but then it goes.. weird.

I am so hyper aware of every little feeling

me too.. i guess that will fade a bit as we get past the 12 week stage.. well hopefully it will fade :)

i think the burning coincides with me having a full bladder.. i wonder if it is some endo coming back as have had heaps of that removed off my bladder at my last years surgery.. hmm.. not like an infection at all..

ah well.. happy thoughts!

my specialist said that by 6 weeks you can see the heartbeat so hopefully u will be able to have a good look by nearly 7 weeks :) i'm so excited for my scan.. i'm so excited for you guys scans too!

Milo- Grrr for long dutch surnames. We'll be going for a shortish name too to compliment ours.
Lisaas- I know what you mean about being hyper aware of every little feeling. I find myself thinking "am I really feeling rough or is it my imagination"
Fall off my chair backwards... we have just come up with a girls name that we both like!... Just hope we still like it in 8 months time

All the best for your scan tomorrow Marengo, exciting!! Please let us know how it goes!

I am starting to go 'off' food.. the thought of cooking meat for dinner turns my stomach! Craving peanut butter & banana on toast, nom nom.
