Im sure Im paying way more than I used to for citalopram, I've got heath insurance so I get some of it back but I'm sure it was never as expensive before. (god does that make sense!!!)

I also noticed on the receipt you dont get any government subsidy for it, am I the only one that thinks that sucks!!

I'm pretty sure i onlypay the three dollar fee at the chemist and the rest is fully subsidised. I used to pay more for Loraximine because it isn't subsidised but thought that was why I am on citalopram now.

If I am wrong i wil let you know as I need to go to pharmacy tomorrow

Edited as I seem to have forgotten how to speak english

I got 30 tabs today and it cost me $21.50!!! I also used to get 90 tabs at a time but this time it says I have two repeats, Im going to call my Dr tomorrow to see if this is the way he wrote the script of the pharmacy is now doing it that way for some reason

Usually you don't have to pay for repeats, so the $21.50 would be for 90 tabs. Some pharmacies only give you a month's worth of medication unless you request more.
Government funding confuses me, seems they change what they subsidise like they change their undies...

I had a look at the Pharma site who regulate all the meds in NZ

Heres a link about citalopram http://www.pharmac.govt.nz/patients/Schedule?q=citalopram - Pharmac

It may be that your GP has written a non-generic brand of citalopram or not allowed substitution for the nominated brand which is Arrow whcih is why it is costing so much.

I definitely only pay $3 per script, whether I get monthly repeats or a 90 day script
