Welcome to the Due in July 2012 thread and CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! What an exciting and amazing journey you are now on!

Welcome also to the OHbaby! community :) Here you will get to make some fantastic friends, learn from others experiences and share a tear and a giggle with each other.

We have two Due in Threads created each month - one is public and one is private. The public one is great for general chat and banter the private thread is password protected and is great for you to share photo's of baby bumps etc

If you're new to the thread and want to be a part of the private group also Just pop in here - say hi and that you're keen to be in the private forum and one of your fellow mums-to-be will private message you the password.

Please do sign up to the weekly pregnancy emails - you can do that by adding your pregnancy in your profile (you can also add your scan pictures when you have one and bubs will be there every time you login to the website).  We recommend signing up the other half as well so they know what you're going through and how baby is growing too :)

Wishing you THE VERY BEST PREGNANCY!!!

Hi Lisa,
I just found out I'm pregnant for the first time. I'm thrilled but also very nervous... I keep thinking I'm going to do something to hurt this precious little ball of cells. Currently I'm worried because I went out and got really cold in the rain. I'm sure I'm just being irrational and that won't actually have done anything.

OhBaby was invaluable when I was preg with DD1 and I've become good friends with a lot of the ladies from my due thread from back then. Even tho most of them live up north!!!

nzlisajo that would be fantastic! I don't have any friends that are PG so it would be lovely to meet up with someone who knows what it feels like

I felt awful at the end of last week - nausea, cramping and extremely painful boobs! Haven't really felt anything this week though. I'm off to the Doctor's this afternoon...haven't been able to get an appointment up until now so hopefully everything will be confirmed and I'll have a better idea of my EDD.

I've 'known' I was pregnant for the past 2weeks. Been falling asleep at work, eating like a horse and peeing lots. Over the last week my boobs have been firmer too. It's weird cause with DD, I had no symptoms till after I found out I was UTD. Other than really bad skin. I broke out big time but never thought it could be cause I was preg. So went to the Doc to see if she could give me something to sort my skin out and first thing she said was 'could you be pregnant' and I was like.... ummm... maybe? And sure enough! I was about 4 and 1/2wks at that stage and then at 5wks MS reared its ugly head and stuck around till 18wks. Been feeling really pukey today tho which isn't ideal.

My MW from last time round is guna ring me tonight. Pays to get in with her early cause almost missed out with DD1 when I rung her when I was 6wks!!

nzlisajo I was just googling ChCh midwives and I found a thread on here with a comment from you saying that Halswell Village Midwives are great...just got back from the Doctor who recommended them too! I live in Halswell and work 10 minutes away so am thinking it would be perfect. Anyone in particular that you wouldn't mind recommending?

Being a complete newbie, I don't even know how to go about finding one! Do you normally meet more than one and see who 'feels right'? What are you meant to ask them?!

You sound like me Lisa.

The tiredness is crazy. I've been peeing lots too, really nauseous, got heartburn constantly, and my boobs have been killing me. I've been really hungry too but have gone off a lot of food and never know what i feel like. lol. That all started straight away.

My MW from Halswell Village is Vicki De Grut mini horse. She got recommended to me by a friend who had her as her MW. I was going to meet with a few MW's and choose but I liked Vicki straight away. She is just so laid back and more like a friend. Can txt whenever with any question and she doesn't come across as too 'text book'. I can PM you her cellphone number if you want?
Oh _Deb_ I had wicked heartburn with Isla! Not till I was in my third trimester tho but it was horrendous. To the point I was almost vomitting. Oh and the leg cramps at 3am! I hope I don't get them this time round! I would wake up screaming cause I was in so much pain! It's funny how you forget all this and having another baby sounds like such a great idea...... and then you start remembering what it was ACTUALLY like haha. But to you first timers, it's not all bad I actually love being pregnant, it's such an awesome feeling
DD#1 kissed my belly tonight and said 'night night baby'....... not quite sure where she learnt that from cause we haven't said anything to her. It freaked me out a bit.......

Heartburn is horrible isn't it. I've had it with all 3 pregnancies. Not this early before though. I was the same as you when pregnant with my daughter. I had it so bad it was actually really painful and stuff would come up my throat and burn. Oh yes the leg cramps. They can be nasty! That's weird that Isla did that!

When i set up my tickers i just put one code in then use enter to make a space under it then put the other one. Or if i'm putting small ones side by side i just push space then put the next one in. Not sure if that helps at all. lol.

So tired. Isabella decided to get up at 3am and climb into our bed then proceeded to kick me in back over and over again. Not cute.

I had no idea pregnancy symptoms could start this early. I've suddenly got bad skin and sore breasts. Hope this isn't an ongoing feature! And I had another bad night's sleep. I had stomach cramps last night so I hope everything is ok. Hope I can stop worrying all the time that it's not going to work out!

Posted By: Richie
Date Posted: 28 October 2011 at 12:06pm
Man I feel lucky... I never had sore boobs at all when pregnant with Isla and haven't had it (yet) either. They do feel a bit firmer tho... but that's a good thing cause they were looking a bit limp after BFing Isla for 12 months haha. I get married in just over 3 weeks so will be nice to have bigger boobs to fill my dress a bit better! haha
So.... too early to think of names? lol

Hi ladies can I join you! I got my BFP this morning its been such a long day at work having this amazing experience but not being able to share it with anyone other than DH

So far I just have sore boobs and a bit of lower back pain.

Aghh so excited!!!!!

Congrats and welcome Hails. What day are you due?

We should start a list.

I get sore boobs with each pregnancy but man they've been KILLING me this time. The kids always end up knocking and elbowing them too. lol. Man i feel so gross. I felt ok when i got up this morning but then by lunch time i had gone downhill. I got a bloody migraine too. My vision is ok now but my heads still sore.

lol Lisa, i hear ya on the limp boobs! Mine are feeling firmer too.

Koromiko i've been getting heaps of cramps. I did with the other two as well. So try not to worry. Easier said than done i know! I worry so much even though i never had any problems with my other pregnancies. I know i relaxed a bit after my 12 week scans. You still worry though, just not as much. Well i did anyway.

Thanks for the reassurance, it's good to hear that others have had cramps without anything going wrong! I'll try to relax about it. This forum is quite an eye-opener, stuff I've read always seems to say that you don't feel anything until at least 6 weeks but it seems most people are experiencing something.

I had no idea you work it out from first day of last period haha I just took it from the first day we BD'ed after my period finished..... yup, total twat I know! Soooo I should probably head over to June thread now, but will still pop in here cause I went 2wks overdue with DD so will most likely end up having a July baby anyway... Still keen to meet up with the other CHCHers on here at a later date tho!

I woke up this morning and immediately had this burst of happiness thinking 'omg I'm pregnant!'. Feeling kind of okay today still got the sore/heavy boobs and feeling tired as well.

DH is so cute he went out last night to get me some fruit and a couple of baby mags He even ordered a book for the baby 'ten little ladybugs' I didn't realise how excited he would be. Now we just have to hope that this little seed sticks!

They probably are getting bigger. They usually do during pregnancy. Even early on. I think mine have grown a bit too. lol. I've been feeling really bloated too and my stomach is sticking out heaps under my belly button.

I've told a friend of mine and Looey85 is my cousin, so obviously she knows. Hehe. We haven't told anyone else though (apart from some of the ladies i talk to on here, lol). We'll probably wait till after the 12 week scan to tell our families/friends. Have to see if i can hide it for that long though!

Not feeling tooo bad today. Still so tired though. Early night for me tonight i think! Might have to have a nap today too.

Aghh thank god today is over! Work was crazy busy and I tried really hard to stay in my 'stress free baby bubble' I work in a children's hospital so it can be difficult to do that!

I have a question and Deb your probably best equipped to help me I phoned my doctor on Friday when I got my BFP to see if I needed a blood test to confirm. The ladies at the doctors office said they don't usually do blood tests as the urine tests are very accurate these days. So now I'm kind of like what next? Do I book an appointment at the Doctor or look directly for a midwife? And at what stage do I look for a midwife?

20 questions I know Any help would be great!

Posted By: _Deb_
Date Posted: 31 October 2011 at 5:24pm
Yep you can go straight to a MW. It's probably a good idea to start looking now as the the good ones get booked up fast. It's also a good idea to get some recommendations then ring a few to see who you like. You could arrange to meet them too if you want to see who you click with in person. Do you know anyone that you could ask who a good MW is? Otherwise there is a thread about MW's in the pregnancy section on here. Or google might bring something up.

Awesome thanks! I have been going to acupuncture for a while with a women who is also a midwife so maybe she'll have some recommendations! I'll check out the thread as well.

How are you feeling today? I was very tired last night and was out to it by 10 which is unusual for me! Boobs are still heavy and sore and I've had light cramps on and off throughout the afternoon.

Made an appt with a MW today  Did a bit of searching (and got a recommendation from Lisa on here) and she sounds very popular. Only thing is, I can't see her until next Wednesday. I really want to go with someone from her practice as it's just round the corner and my GP said they were all great. Just wondering, do you think it's rude to meet with other MW's from the same place??? I'm worried that if for some reason we don't 'click' I will have missed out on finding someone that I really like.

Do you have an EDD?

*yawn* I'm off to bed in a minute. I wanted to finish watching Shaun of the Dead 'cause it cracks me up, but i'm too tired.

I've found a MW that i want. I'll give her a call tomorrow. A few people have recommended her and she has really good reviews online. I hope she can take me on.

I'm glad you found the thread useful Hails.

Welcome and congrats Sarah.

mini horse i don't think that's rude. I'm sure most MW's would understand that people want to find someone they're comfortable with.

Well i gave her a call. She sounds really nice. She doesn't have an appointment till the 18th but that's ok. With my other two i didn't see my MW till later than that.

I had to be induced with my other two because my labour didn't progress after my waters broke. So hopefully i'll go into labour properly this time 'cause that MW only births at the birth centres not the hospital. So if i have to be induced again i'm guessing it would just be the hospital MW's i'd end up with. The MW still booked me in and said we can try to get me my natural birth. So fingers crossed!

I'm really nervous about finding a midwife. I've been recommended some but they are all way across town. Anyone have recommendations for the south/eastern suburbs of Wellington? I don't know how much of a hassle it will be travelling across town. How often do you usually go?

Man, I am so tired already and my boobs hurt so much they feel BRUISED.

Yeah it's still a surprise. Hehe. We just thought that since this is our last we'd like a surprise at the end. I loved finding out with the other two though. I hear ya on the tiredness and sore boobs. Both have been REALLY bad for me this time.

Hi,

Deb, thanks for the info about midwife processes, that was really useful. I've just booked in with someone - exciting!

For the list I think the due date is 2 July, and it will be our first child.

I haven't been feeling too bad so far but I get a bad headrush every time I stand up.

Can anyone tell me what is the purpose of the 12 week scan other than screening for Downs syndrome?

Hi Ladies
I'm excited to be able to join this thread :) We are expecting baby #2, and I think my EDD will be July 1. We have a DD who will be 2 on July 7 so hoping #2 doesn't crash her birthday!! A bit of a shorter age gap than I had intended (I was always saying I'd have a 3 year age gap but cluckiness got in the way...and this baby was a lot quicker to conceive...)
I have had blood tests done and they are all fine (I thought they always checked your HCG levels but apparently they don't) and am seeing my MW from my first pregnancy next Tuesday...hoping I can get a dating scan to check everything is ok :)
Feeling yucker by the day, but hopefully thats a good sign. The tiredness is way worse this time round - probably due to the fact I have a very active nearly 16 month old to chase around.
Congratulations to you all and I look forward to getting to know you all better :) I am 29 (will be 30 in mid June - just before bubs is due) and live in Auckland.

Now to sort out this ticker thing...does any body have a link on how to do them?

Hi Koromiko
I think the 12 week scan is mainly for the NT test, but also to confirm your due date (if you haven't had a dating scan), and just to ensure everything is going well with the pregnancy

Congrats and welcome Jelle. I added you to the list.

If you click on my ticker it should take you to lilypie. Then just make up your ticker then click on PseudoHTML, UBBCode and BB Code. Then copy the link, you don't need the stuff before and after the IMG, then come back here and click on profile, up near the top of the page, just above new topic, then paste the ticker code into the signature box.

I hope all that made sense. lol.

Hi Jelle and congrats!

Well I'm pregnant through IUI so there's not really any question about the due date.

I've just tried setting up a ticker so will see if it's worked.

I went to lilypie.com and chose the different parts of it, then at the end there was a page that said "ticker code snippets". Under forum codes I clicked on "PseudoHTML, UBBCode and BB Code" and then just copied that and pasted it into my signature.

Oh yip, I'm definitely one of you :)

Yip koromiko, the 12 week scan is generally just used for Down's testing, I've never had one :)

Thanks for the tip about not needing the stuff before and after IMG, I was wondering how to fit 3 tickers in.....and now there's room for one more ;)

We will definately find out the gender...I'm far too impatient to wait!!!

Koromiko we're due on the same day! (At this stage anyway).

I can't believe how tight my pants are getting! I know it's just from being bloated - I haven't put on any weight. Can't wait to unbutton them each night after work

Got my Midwife on Friday so i can go and get blood tests done (yuck really hate them lol) and be reminded of the whole process again.

Anyone else get random pains in their tummy...I have been getting them for the last couple of days not really bad just dull sore pains around different places, wonder if its just my body preparing.

Talking of weight, hoping i don't put on as much this time....but so far i have just been starving every day, and then start feeling sick about 5pm....

Starzie, I've been getting those pains too, I think I remember them from last time - stretching pains?

I just started losing weight at a good pace after #2, has come to a grinding halt unfortunately. Has been the same in all my pregnancies, though, doesn't matter that I haven't changed my eating habits at all!

Hello expectant July Mummies!! So, according to my dates my EDD is 30 June 2012, but I figure since it's only 1 day off July I'll just tag on here if you don't mind?! This is my first forum experience, even though I have a 3.5yr old son, so please let me know how these things work!!

Anyway just got back from my honeymoon and am 94% sure that there is three of us now! Im not to sure how the Pregnancy Due Date Calculators work but I have a feeling we conseved on the 27th of Oct so that should make it about 18-22nd of july??
Very nervous as we lost my wee girl (Im convinced of the sex ) last June at 13weeks, so preying for a sticky baby.
I am looking forward to geting to know you all.

Congrats and welcome to our group tracief82, bookie and emilzz.
I am also having strange stomach pains, and apart from going to the loo more often I feel quite 'normal'. Guess more is yet to come.
I booked my midwife last night, felt good to tell someone! We're going to tell my in-laws this weekend when we visit them in wgtn, and my parents next week when they get home from overseas. I liked the idea of keeping it quiet for a bit longer but quickly decided that's too hard! Not sure how I'll keep secret at Friday work drinks either...

Congrats and welcome Emilzz - a honeymoon baby, how exciting!! Excuse my noseyness, where was bubs conceived? Yup you've got your dates about right , I know we conceived on October 13, and due date is July 5

Hee hee you guys seem to have the hang of forums! I for one post prolifically (sorry )

I need to start interviewing midwives! Am so gutted I can't have the same one again....but Dunedin is a bit far to travel for my appointments!

We haven't told any yet (except for Devon's forum group from) but expect we'll tell the inlaws by Skype today , I can't wait to tell my friend, he always had dreams and lets me know what sex I'm having......I'll text him later today and ask if he's had any dreams...hee hee can't wait for his reaction!

A honeymoon baby is so awesome!
i have told a few people, all of my close friends and anyone else i can get away with...as i know if something goes wrong i will need the support group.
Wondering if my MW will change my due date as i based it on my period but think i had a late ovulation, so should be interesting :)

Congrats and welcome to all the new ladies.

I can't decide when exactly to tell people. Might still wait till after the 12 week scan. Don't know if i can hide it for that long though. lol. We told people earlier on with the other two.

Felt so sick last night. It took me ages to go to sleep.

Starzie, are you having a dating scan? That'd be the only time they change your due date.

I had a dating scan both times (was unsure of dates), never had a 12 week scan, and then have had 4 weekly scans from 20 weeks due to my super high blood pressure. This time, I'm aiming for no scan til 20 weeks...and hopefully that'll be the only one!

Aw yuck Deb, I don't feel pregnant (long may that last, am still feeding miss D, and feeding was sooo painful when I was pregnant with her).

With my son i had a scan at 9 weeks just 'cause my doctor thought i might wanna see that everything is ok since he was my first, then the usual NT and anatomy scans. I didn't have an early one with my daughter but had the NT and anatomy ones.

You're lucky Booski, hopefully it'll last. I've had strong symptoms pretty much from conception. Starting to feel sick again now. No vomiting though. I only threw up once with each of my other two pregnancies. Weird aye. lol.

Suppose i should force myself to get on with the housework. Sucks being this tired all the time.

Starzie, yes, I have been getting dull aches for the past week. I keep worrying about it but others have told me it might not mean anything.

Sahara, I know what you mean, it's so hard to keep it quiet! We were just going to tell close family, but I let it slip out with a couple of close friends. I think it is good to have some supportive people know so they can share the excitement... and if anything did go wrong they would be there for us. But I don't want everyone to know. A guy at my last work told the whole team when his wife was pregnant for the first time and then had to tell us all when it hadn't worked out... I really felt for him.

Jelle, I like your ticker. Here's hoping all our little apple seeds grow well!
