Topic: 5th Birthday ideas.... Posted: 27 April 2011 at 9:18pm |
Hi ladies,
My daughter is turning 5 in September & I am in the middle of planning her birthday but I can't really decide what to do....for those who have 5 year old's what did you do for your kids 5th birthday?
Number 5 is a very special age (a huge milestone) so want it to be very special.
Did you combine your family & your childs friends in one party? Or did you have different celebrations?
Ideas are much appreciated :-)

I did a big birthday party for my boy when he turned five, hired a bouncy castle, let him invite his kindy friends, themed it ... everyone had a blast.
My second child is unfortunatley a winter boy so we had his at butterfly creek and let him invite kindy friends as well. A blast once again.
I dont do separate parties so family and friends all get invited. if they dont like it they can lump it.

I am in middle of doing my boys 5th birthday now. We are having one at his day care cos his birthday falls in the school holidays so it is easier to do have a little birthday lunch and his graduation from day care at the same time, that way he can still have a "special day" with the day care friends. For the family and close friends we have decided to go to the Zoo. He wants a jungle safari theme so everything we are doing is based on that....and the zoo just seemed to be a perfect place to take him + he has been into tigers, lions and dinosaurs since he was one...so this was a easy choice for us to make....
What is your daughter really into, i guess you can just plan it all around what her favourite things are at the moment....Good luck, you can have so much fun once you have made up your mind on what you are going to do.

My DD turned 5 at the end of May and we had a Fairy come to her party. She was so excited . I hired a room at the local rec centre which had loads of space for games and running around with out crashing into the tables with the morning tea. We had 12 kids plus DD2 and her little friend.
Our family is not that big so they came along and then they came back to our place for lunch.

My DD had her 5th birthday party a couple of weeks ago. She had a disco - it was really cool, the kids all got into it and had a ball! We decorated the garage with streamers, balloons and bought a disco ball light off TM. Also borrowed a bubble machine from a friend. Turned the lights off and just played some good dance type music and they had a blast.

Didn't invite adults to #1's party, we'd arranged it at Mum's place though as I wasn't sure where I'd be with #2 who was due 1 week before her birthday. We had a bunch of kindy friends & the main game was get the Pinata
