Joey has been on antibiotics for the past 10 days with a really bad eye infection.
Came out this morning in a massive rash and black tongue!!!
Took him to the dr,s and they think it's the antibiotics so have put him on a new lot without penicillin in them for another 5 days

Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen? How long did it take for the symptoms to go away? My poor wee man is miserable!!

Josh had a slight reaction to penicillen, he came out with a rash and vomited everywhere and all the time.

Sorry not sure about the tounge.

Hopefully he gets better soon.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Hannah had her first antibiotics a few weeks ago and came out in hives with the penicillin, and another one I cant remember. Not sure how long Joeys symptoms will take tho, but it is relatively common allergy. Hope he's feeling better soon.

His tongue is almost back to normal this morning and rash is a wee bit better.

I know it's relatively common but I just found it weird that it only happened after 10 days! Maybe system overload for him

Thanks guys.

I'm allergic to most antibiotics. Hives take me about a week to get rid of, more if I scratch. Penicillin just makes me feel very sick. I've never had a black tounge so can't help with that one.

I'm allergic to penicillin too, altho I'm lucky (if you can call it that ) that mine only developed as a result of having glandular fever (a random side effect of the GF virus sometimes!) so I'm not allergic to any of the other common ones like cephlosporins.

Maya's allergic to Sulfa meds, runs in my family, she has anaphalaxis to it
