I would second going to Sitar, they have a section upstairs for bigger groups, and the food is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally good !!!!!

I are at sitar few years ago and it was so so. I think Saffron in town is much better. Yummy yummy food.

as long as they do a Butter Chicken I don't really like curries, not the spicey so much - more just the taste

Mmmmmm butter chicken!!!
To be honest, I don't know about others but I wouldn't be so keen on a town location simply becuase of the cost of parking. Just a thought.

Tusk on dominion road is good. here
They also do a set banquet for $29.50. Mains are around $17. So quite reasonable...

I can be hopeful but failing that I'm sure there are other "nicer" buffet places around. There's a fabulous one here on the shore but it's all the way in Devonport.

But town is in the middle and you could always car pool/share taxi?

Yup Watermark. We had my 29th there. So nice!!
Taxi?? even sharing?? That can be pricey even from the shore. (remembering when we would taxi in form work.
Car pooling could be a plan but we'll see where it is first.
