Yeah we still use rice cereal and the other thing I started giving when he could handle lumps was porridge. Milk oaties are good (just make with water/breastmilk/specialist formula). They taste quite nice with just water and I add a cube or two of fruit puree to it.
You can also buy rice bread instead of normal bread (if you are avoiding soy as well).
Organic shops are good for milk free products, there is a make of rusk that organic shops normally stock which are free of all common allergens.
Rice crackers and rice cakes are awesome too, and we also found some animal crackers at the organic shop that are safe for him (and very yummy

)
If you ask your plunket nurse they have a handout from watties with all the allergens listed for their baby foods.
