How long should this lady be allowed to get away with endangering her children and others?? She's obviously an alcoholic but far out...

A 48-year-old mother has been caught twice in the past two days for driving over the limit while driving her children to school.

Acting Senior Sergeant Greg Murton said the woman was stopped at a Compulsory Breath Testing site at 9am yesterday and blew 1199mg - three times the legal breath-alcohol limit.

This morning, she was stopped again at 8.45am, again en route to drop her children off at their primary school, and this time blew 695mg.

"Compulsory Breath Testing will be occurring at all times of the day and night, and this is evidence of the dangers that drink driving poses, not only to road users, but in this case to children, pedestrians and parents, even before school," Murton said.

I seen that as well, i think its really wrong. To be caught two days in a row on her way to dropping kids off at school. I say name and shame.

Or if not name and shame find some decent physcological help for her. There is no excuse....but what is the pain she is trying to numb out?

The weird thing is, that it's on the way to school. So she's presumably drinking it right up while the kids are in her care and before 8.30am on several days (if not most/all). That's astounding. The 3pm run would be less shocking to me, cause the kids wouldn't be around while she was drinking so much.

That is crazy - she must of had half a bottle of gin in her OJ to have that high a reading at 9am. I hope they get her some help (she clearly needs it) but I also hope that she is off the road too - scary for other drivers in the area.

Not only them, but the kids walking to and from school, crossing the roads she's driving on...

She's probably still drunk when she gets up in the morning and then has an eye opener before jumping in the car to do the school run.

I think there really needs to be zero tolerance with drink drivers and it should be an automatic disqualification from driving for at least 12 months. I also question how someone who is consistently drunk still has her children, although I suppose cyfs could be involved, I would expect they would have been informed.

There was a story on the local news about some woman getting stopped driving drunk. She has 7 children asleep in her car under blankets and her excuse for drink driving was 'I have to get home because I'm late to breast feed my baby'

Some people don't deserve to be parents!
