welcome back Sonya Hope your birth wasn't too traumatic - you seem to be almost laughing about it now though - giving birth was far worse than i expected so hopefully it won't scare me too much!
Your Edyn-Rose is gorgeous!

hey ladies sorry its taken so long and after this ill start posting in the other thread...my lil miss is awake all day sitting ont he boob but she has a formula bottle at night normally about 12ish just so i can get some sleep as i still havnt caught up from the week before she was born. midwife came today and she is already 200g above her birth weight so from 7lb1 to 7lb8 already lil porker you can tell too shes getting chubby lil cheeks and her hair is getting redder and redder as the days go by lol. her cord came off today thank goodness cos it was starting to look sore and icky.
ok my birth story in basic version but it is still a long story
ok so you all know about the tuesday through to saturday of last week for me i think that was my last update when my MW had been to do an internal and i was only 3cm she did a sweep and contractions got stronger and longer but then eased off a little more but were back with full force by sunday arvo so i rung her again to come and check me thinking surely 24 hours of those sorta pains had to do something. got the on call MW over about 6pm and she did an internal nope STILL ONLY 3CM but a paper thin and very very stretchy cervix this MW did a big nasty S&S that wasnt very comfortable. after she left they kept coming and were getting really strong so i text Edyn's dad to come and stay the night just incase and so i wasnt alone, he turned up about 9pm and already coulnt stand the pain i was in so he rung MW about 9:30pm by this stage they were 3-4 mins apart and there was no way i could talk through them. MW turned up about 10pm did an internal and i was 6cm yay finally getting somewhere or so it thought! i had to keep walking round if i sat down my contractions slowed down to about 5 mins apart but if i was walking they were 2 mins apart. we had a talk about what to do and i decided to go to napier hospital and fill the pool and have her there but they were full so i made the decision to stay at home and fill the homebirth pool. once i was in there my contractions slowed again but i was feeling the urge to push with my contractions so my MW rung the other MW who had to be here for the birth and she arrived at about 11:30pm but they decided after an hour to get me out and walking round again. the other MW left and i carried on at home at 1am my MW did another internal and i was 7-8 cm by this stage i was vomitting with each contraction couldnt keep anything down. she asked me what i wanted to do and i said id rather stay at home and just have her here as when the boys went to bed finally at 11 that night the MW had told them their sister would be here when they woke up in the morning and i didnt want to upset them. anyway carried on with 2 min apart contractions so so so painful my legs would buckle under me with each one till 4am when MW did another internal and i was only 9cm i couldnt carry on anymore and wasnt progressing so MW rung the hastings hospital to tell them we were on our way (longest 15min drive of my life). got there at about 5am and got put on monitors as they were worried about bubs heart rate and the specialist was called and she wouldnt give me an epidural till i had some monitoring as i may have needed a c section which scared me so badly. everything seemed fine but my contractions then slowed back to 5min apart and FINALLY i got my epidural at 6:10am plus a saline drip to rehydrate me after all the vomitting ive never felt so good in all my life to not feel anything after nearly a week of pains and no sleep. specialist then came in at 6:20am and broke my waters when she pulled her hand out her glove was covered in thick thick meconium so that started people stressing. she then gave permission for the syntocinon drip aswell to see if we could get me to 10cm so that started at 7:30am by that stage id had an hours sleep then just dozed on and off till 8:15am when the specialist changed shift and the new one for the day came in to check on me (and he had to be a hot young doc lol) he said he would come back at 9am and do an internal etc but then he stood and watched bub heartrate for a bit and didnt like what he saw over 7-8 ins her heartrate had gone from sitting at 130-140 all night to >160 then shot back down to 90. i had just had a top up on my epidural but i could feel her right down in my butt which they all thought was funny as with the epi you shouldnt feel that but i knew hwat i was feeling so he did an internal and said oh yip her head is right there get her out now if you can before she starts stressing too much then called in 2 other MWs a paediatrician plus himself. so 3 pushes and she was out at 8:27am much to my delight!!!! then came the drama of the placenta i very nearly had to go to surgery to get it removed as it wouldnt come away and then when MW pulled the cord just the membranes came away not the placenta aswell but luckily after about 20ish mins i got that out too.
the really sad part was that my boarder who had stayed with the boys had to go to work at 7am so Edyn's dad had to leave me at hospital and come and get my boys ready for school and drop them off as mum was still in auckland and i had noone else to do it but we all thought he would get back about 9am and that would be heaps of time but because of her heartrate he missed her actual birth. he was so great during my labour never left my side so it was a shame he missed the main event and missed out on bein able to cut her cord.
got my papers today and they say my 1st stage was 14 hours 25mins so they must be taking it from when the oncall MW did her S&S my 2nd stage was 2 MINUTES( haha what a legend) and 3rd stage was 23 minutes.

Awesome birth story Sonya! Man you're such a trooper. Haha, 2 minutes! Did you get any tears from such a quick 2nd stage? I might do my story soon.
I keep going to put up pics but just end up gazing at them and wasting time lol
