Topic: WW at home/online? Posted: 22 November 2010 at 1:04pm |
Hi,
Before I got pregnant two years ago I was a lean mean, fit machine. Then along came bub, sleepless nights, PND etc...and I'm just really unfit and eating badly.
I would like to loose about 10 kG and with DH about to take 6 weeks school holidays, now's a good time to do something. Plus I had Gestational Diabetes and it was a bit scary, and I want to keep my diabetes risk down. Plus I would like another baby and obviously being heathier would help with TTC.
I have found that just excercising doesn't cut it - I have to eat right. I have great success about 10 years ago on the UK WW program. Back then I was single and had only me to worry about so I had real success. I now need a programme that works in with a toddler who eats our food and DH who is a meat and carb kinda guy.
We live rural and so I need soemthing I can do from home. So here are my questions:
I wondered what the WW online or at home (same thing??) were like?
Are they easy to follow and can you get the motivation and support you need?
How much does it cost in NZ$?
I'm a WW Gold member (if I can find my card) does that give me discounts?
Many thanks
MMM

WW online/at home is the same thing and really easy. its not so good for ppl who need motivation but if you can keep control of yourself it is fabulous. i think it cost me $31 a month NZ? i get $1 joining though. i dont know bout the gold card though sorry but surely it should count for something. its all prety sefl explanitory as far as the point and stuff though it is really hard to eat all the points you are supposed to though. on the new program im on 29 points which is totally impossible unless i go out of my way to drink full fat milk and eat almonds and stuff on top of all my normal food which drives me up the wall

Just joined the free 2 week trial of online & will probably keep it going as I am sure I will get hooked on it, lol.
I am looking at doing the at home one but will wait till the new yr. It is $297 but you get all the books & a follow up phone call a week, not sure how many weeks it is for.
I rang them & going to meeting you get books for the first 4 weeks & then you get them at I think goals & maintenance.
I think meeting are great to keep you on track but I found them hard to make some weeks.
The $1 joining has finished so I would suggest try the 2week free trial for online.

Hi, I have a gold or lifetime member card from the UK too. When I rejoined and couldn't find it I rang the UK people and they sent me another one! Not sure if it is the same online, but I never pay a joining fee with the card and get discounts on the in-meeting products. I still pay my weekly attendance fee, but that is also discounted. Good luck :)

I joined online weightwatchers last week and I am loving it.
I dont like meetings because if I have to find time to go to one I never will.
The nice thing about online weightwatchers is that it does all the calculations for you. No hunting through books etc. Just pull up your planner and insert what you ate.
There is a three month deal at the moment which cost me $110 NZ. A good start I think.

I joined with $110 NZ deal for 3 months, which was pretty good. So far its great and I love the trackers. Like Monkiah I think provided I don't pick at stuff and keep good portion size's I'll have toruble eating the points.
