Hi ladies,

Wondering if anyone has a toddler with reflux and secondary tonsillitis.

My DD has had sevre reflux since newborn. We went through a good stage, but it is really bad again. She is also getting tonsillitis as a result of the sevre reflux roughly every two weeks. As soon as she comes off antibiotics she gets it again.

We finally saw a Pediatrician and throat specialist last week. Due to her age and the severity of the reflux, a tonsillectomy would be risky and she would be at risk of bleeding out. Her throat is so bad however, they think they still may need to do it anyway.

I would love to talk to anyone who is going through something similar or has done in the past.

Also some tips on helping soothe her would be great. I don't have the same tools I could have used when she was much smaller, i.e. electric rockers.

The only way we can get her to nap during the day is upright in her high chair and it doesn't always work. Also she is only getting about 8 hours sleep in a 24 hour period, so she is grumpy and miserable.

ETA: she has just been switched from 2.5mg of losec to 20mg per day pluss 2ml ranitidine. Currently taking antibiotics and pamol for pain and just started probiotic to hopefully help her immune system.

Contact the lady that runs crying over split milk. Her daughter has really severe reflux and multiple food intolerances so she will be able to help out I'm sure. I'm on an email list with her & she's so knowledgeable.
