My DD has been battling a fungal nappy rash on and off for months now, every time it happens we put her in moltex for a week while we use antifungal creams so as not to damage the nappies.

It occurred to me recently that perhaps the reason she has been getting reoccurring infections may be that the nappies are carrying the fungi. We use a hot wash most times and dry in the sun when possible, but today I bought some anti-fungal laundry rinse (Dettol - couldn't find Canesten anywhere) and thought I would give them a blast.

Are the outers ok to soak? Or is it a bettter idea just to run them through a cycle in the machine with the Dettol? I am happy soaking the inserts, but was wondering how it would affect the PUL. Also, was going to follow the anti-fungal rinse with a soak in Rockin Green, once again is it ok to soak the outers in RG?

I don't soak my inners or outers, but have put them through a canestan wash and RG wash for the very reason you mentioned.

I will be interested to see what others say about Dettol. I was going to get some today but wasn't sure if it was ok to use. I too looked everywhere at the supermarket for Canesten and I couldn't find it.
