Topic: Yay for ME Posted: 16 October 2006 at 9:16am |
Ok so this may sound a little selfish. But on Wednesday the 18th (this coming Wednesday) is the 1 year anniversary of me quitting smoking. I am very proud of myself for not smoking for a year and have no intention of ever smoking again. Has anyone else had a milestone like this and did you celebrate it??
I want DH to take me out for lunch, but he thinks its silly that I remember a date like this. So he said to ask around and see if other people have done the same. Or just help me to convince him he should take me out for lunch.

That is so brilliant. Have you been putting aside the money you used to spend on smokes each week? I bet that would more than pay for a lunch. Would probably pay for an overseas holiday. Good on you!!

I quit cold turkey. I did it the first time the day I found out I was pregnant with Andrew. And then silly me went back to work and the day I stopped BFing I started again. Read the book by Alan Carr, is very useful. I didn't read the whole book but read most of it before I had quit.

Good on you! My dad has tried and failed so many times - and he has a heart cnodition! Smoking they say, is more addictive than heroin so I would say CELEBRATE! I celebrate on the night of Jake and (well, i will next year) Taine's birtday - Yah me, I gave birth a year (or so) ago today...and I make Lewis give me presents.

I totally think that deserves celebration - like angelnz said, consider how much money giving up will have saved you in the year! It is a hard thing to do and you have already made it through a year - go celebrate!
