Hi Mumma2be.
I'm with Guy Gudex currently, and think he's pretty darned awesome. He definitely pays close attention to your particular set of problems and works out an individualised program - this is in stark contrast to FA (who we went to with DD) - it definitely felt like a numbers game there - and they largely employed a prescriptive approach to a diagnosis.
For example, I have PCOS, am young(ish!) - 30, and of normal weight. Prior to DD I was 100% annovulatory, did not cycle at all, and was resistant to clomid. It took a year of increasing doses of clomid, and adding in ovidrel eventually for this to be deemed the case. Finally *I* asked the doctor about ovarian drilling, which I'd read up on. He agreed it was a good idea. After the drilling was done, in combo with clomid, ovidrel, and progesterone, we conceived DD.
Counter this to Dr Gudex's approach.
First, he put me on metformin to see if he could regulate my cycles. Partial success! For the first time in my life I have been ovulating 'all on my own', and getting periods. Amazing. However, my luteal phase is still rubbish, and hasn't been corrected by metformin. So, secondly, we introduced clomid into the mix. And then added ovidrel and progesterone. He only wants to try three months of this approach before discussing where to next (currently in month 2). When I had a strange unmedicated cycle where I had spotting or bleeding everyday, he got me in for a scan and blood tests to work out what was going on. I felt very much 'monitored'.
I think that the crux of it is that Repromed have a very tailored, individual approach to their patients. And Dr Gudex is very personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend him.
