Topic: Baseline Scan for IVF Posted: 27 December 2015 at 8:06pm |
heya, merry christmas/happy holidays
Wondering if anyone here has been through Repromed in Auckland, or can answer my question maybe anyway. I have already contacted my Dr there with my question but given it is the hols I haven't heard back yet. We will be doing a short antagonist cycle in a few months time and I have read up all the info they gave me, plus, for better or for worse have trawled the internet.
The internet tells me about needing a baseline TV ultrasound scan and blood test on CD2 however the Repromed papers I was given don't mention any scans or bloods until day 5-8 and onwards from there Does anyone have experience with Repromed, or such a cycle elsewhere and wasnt required to have the CD2 baseline scan?
Thanks in advance xx

Hi - I've done 3 short protocols and never had a scan/bloods till day 8. I think maybe with long protocols they do baseline ones. I was with fertility associates. The Ttc 12mths thread is super active and has lots of girls going through ivf etc so feel free to pop into there - it's a wealth of advice and information.

I had a baseline scan before going on the pill (down regulation) for a month before starting an antagonistic cycle. Didn't have any more scans until after the injections had a chance to work (day 8) - only reason I had a baseline scan was because I often have functional cysts that can interfere with treatment.
Good luck for your cycle!

In my 4 IVF cycles (all different protocols) including numerous FETs I've never had a baseline scan - I think it's something done in American clinics.
