For the past 10 years, I have been working with my currency account in US dollars. It was a real roller coaster ride, during which I sometimes fought hard, and sometimes fought back. In the end, I came out when I did it, and while I was ahead in the game in 10 years. I didn't achieve my goal, but I stayed there and did everything well.
Since then, I have taken this money and deposited it in my brokerage office in US dollars. Being a Canadian and knowing that the current exchange would give me a good accumulation of CAD, I planned to convert it to CAD at the best possible rate (s) and invest in the TSX. I believe that over the next year or two, this may turn out to be a good opportunity to earn some money, given the current economic situation in the world.
Well, I really like the current exchange rate, but I don't like it. So, yesterday I took 300 thousand US dollars and sold them for 1,36120 Canadian dollars. This brought me a little more than 408 thousand dollars. Some time later, I placed another order to collect these 408 thousand dollars and redeem US dollars. The transaction worked at the level of 1.35950, which brought me a profit of $ 368 to about 16.00 Canadian dollars in commission. Okay, a profit of $ 352. In no case is it scary.
Today I sold 400 thousand US dollars for 1.36125, which brought me 544,500 Canadian dollars. Now I have a USD repurchase order with this CAD @ 1.35750. If this transaction takes place, it will bring me from 1,105. 00 to 20.00 Canadian dollars as a commission.
I know this pair and I know the range in which it usually fluctuates. If a pair fails and I get stuck with a certain currency because it loses value, I agree with that. Both currencies are good, and I can invest in either of them. If the CAD weakens against the US dollar, then I can just buy the CAD with all this and not look back.).
I am writing this because I feel 1000 times safer doing what I am doing now than the type of trading I have been doing for the last 10 years! Yes, you need a lot of money to make a good profit, but this applies to both types of Forex trading. But now I don't have to worry about swaps, ridiculous fluctuations and transactions with other currencies, and I will be caught with my pants down, and all my money will be tied up for several months in a row. Making transactions in the amount of 200 to 500 thousand US dollars every couple of days can bring quite a good profit, even if the pair fluctuates by only a few points. Now that I get my profit, it's a real profit. I do not work with a deficit in my open trades in the amount of 100-500 thousand US dollars, as it was before in my previous trading life! This is a net profit in US dollars or Canadian dollars. This is a good way to earn a little$$$ if I am not interested in investing in stocks at the moment.
