try resting his tummy accross your leg. rubbing his back in an upward motion. Or try him sitting up tummy against your tummy. put his arms over your shoulder and make sure his legs are straight too (so basicly stretched out). Then rub back. That works best for us. Yeah water can work too.

yep, just a teaspoon of cooled boiled water... mind you my baby (5 wks on mon) doesnt seem to need to bing up wind much... my husband had better luck than me, he says you need to do the rub and pat in quick succession. seems to work too.

Ayja had heaps of probs too, she still gets windy tummies sometimes. you can also as well as other things mentioned, lean baby against the back of your arm as if you are supporting him sitting and slowly lean him down to lying on his back and then sittin gup again and do this slowly a few times.. aparently it helps bring any air bubbles to the top of the tummy. who knows, but it's worked a few times for us... but mainly we just stick her over our shoulders and make sure her legs are straight like Maria said.

I found over the shoulder works if legs and back is straight.. Although I havent had to burp Kaylin for a while, he does it himself now ...

Another way is sit baby on your lap amd gentle straighten his back so it looks like he is sitting up straight and repeat this gently a few times - it also helps to bring the bubbles to the top of the tummy.

if ur strong enuff lie him across ur forearm like a monkey swinging on a branch, that helpd my first born.or even just lying him on tummy on floor n pat his back as puts pressure on gut to release wind.

If you are against giving your baby medication for reflux there are homeopathic rememdies available.
Not sure how well they work in relation to the other products, or if you don't want to use products for an entirely different reason...?
I used to sit Hannah up with my hand under her neck (looked like I was choking her but I was just supporting her neck... I promise!) and rub her back upwards. That was fine when she was slightly awake, but if she was all drunk and floppy then it was damn hard to hold her up.
As your baby gets older they usually bring up wind easier so let's hope it gets better soon!

I had heaps of trouble with Caleb, our specailist said to try lying him on my arm with his chin in my hand slowly lower his head and body downwards then slowly bring them upright again do that a fe wtimes then put him over my shoulder and rub or pat (HIT) his bum or back.. it worked a treat everytime.. Let us know how you go..

I'd like to take credit for my brilliant winding techniques, but it was under advice from the midwives at the hospital
