I don't cope well with lack of sleep, or with broken sleep, at all and man the last couple of nights have been horrendous! Zac has been screaming, crying, not feeding, not settling unless on me or DH - and even then still screaming and really upset for ages.

He's on 1 capsule of losec a day. We accidentally missed a dose on Weds night - I was out to dinner and DH thought I had already given it. Thursday and Friday nights have been back to how they were before he went on the Losec granules - waking every hour, and often every half hour too... both at night and during the day.

Does anyone think it would help him get over this hump if we increased his meds?

I'm also trying a dairy free diet, but was naughty and had a milo so I'm aware that could well be affecting him too.

*sigh*

How does he go on gaviscon? DD was on losec for a bit and the plunket nurse recommended *supplementing* with gav when she really needed it. They act in different ways so can be used together, and a dose of gav often provided instant relief for her (just if she had too much she got constipated). We are mostly managing it via the diet now and just use gav as a back up if something I or she eats causes a prob.

With the dairy free you need to go completely DF not just avoiding milk etc.

Oh hugs hun! I know it really sucks.

Leah is on Losec and gaviscon together which Dr and Pediatrician both said is fine together for refluxy babies. I have managed to cut gaviscon down to the first feed of the day because that is when she is really hungry and the last feed at night so that she is easier to get down to bed.

What dosage is 1 tablet. Our pharmacist makes our losec into liquid form and she has 1.5 ml per day.
Everyone has different opinion but personally I think increasing the dose is fine as it appears bub may need it. Leah's intolerance is slowly wearing on the losec and it may need to be adjusted.
Dr and Pediatrician have both said that increasing the dosage would not be an issue.

hugs!!!! It sure does suck!!

We used gaviscon in conjunction with the losec. It took a long time to work out what combo worked for Ellie. Maybe go back to your gp and ask their opinion. Mine was great and we just kept on trying until we found the right dose.

Until then...HUGS!!!!!!!!! Try using a dummy...I finally gave in at about 5 months old and wish I had of done it sooner
My beautiful 2 girls...nearly 4 and 13 months
