QuoteReplyTopic: VBA 2 Csections?? Posted: 06 August 2010 at 1:09pm
I know there was a post on here somewhere ages ago but just wanted some advice.
I am considering a 3rd baby, not soon, but I really dont want to have another c-section.
Is it possible to have a natural birth after 2 sections??
My first section was 15years ago, low fluid, incorrect dating and growth scan put me 2.5 weeks ahead but at approx 3lb's so had an elective at 37.5weeks. Baby born 5lb6oz at 35.5 weeks.
My second section was earlier this year. I was induced at 37.5 weeks due to lowish fluid and just generally being uncomfortable. My fluid began to replenish in the last weeks. Laboured for 16hours but failed to dilate. Was never given the drip like I was supposed to have after 5 hours, and spent most of my time on my back in bed. I believe these two things contributed to this. Baby was never in distress and I was just tired so they made the call. Both sections were done with Epi so never any major rush or danger to bubs.
I had so much trouble finding a MW with the 2nd pregnancy so ended up with the community ones who were great.
So really I just want to know if it is possible before I make the decision to try for a 3rd.
It is definately possible - but will depend on what kind of incisions you have, and a 2 year gap between pregnancies would be recommended, and you would have to have a healthy pregnancy.
I have heard of women having 5 c-sections then a natural birth. So if all goes to plan you could definately do it too.
thanks guys, I had my first 15 years ago and would like to wait until this baby is 2 before TTC.
I had a good pregnancy last time apart from the fluid but my OB wasnt too concerned considering it replenished...... At least I now know it is possible!
