Topic: long awaited arrival Posted: 13 July 2005 at 7:42pm |
well i am at home now. as emma told you i finally had a baby. Toby was born on the 12 July at 10.20 pm weighing in at 4425 (9pd 12), length 51 cms head 39cm. the midwife sd - oh thats a big head...
he was a completely different birth experience than my first and i had no stitches, just a graze and was pain free... well i think i can class it as that as i asked for the pethedine, got the shot then five minutes later he was born, after four very loud guttural pushes from me. he took me by surprise and only now do i understand the "ring of fire".
it was great tho and i feel good about it.i feel good now too, just tired and am waiting for my milk to come in. i guess my patience finally payed off (what patience?!!! i had none.)

Maya was 36.5 and the midwife measured it twice to check coz it was so big. 39cm just scares me, you did so well!

well only now after hearing about how big your babies' heads were am i realising how big it is... maybe that explains why it never engaged till labour and it would also explain why they thought he was going to be 11pd. hmmm i am sure i remember saying to someone not so long ago "so long as it is not the head that is big what does the actual size of the baby matter..!!!"
